One of the factor that affect population is
Birth rate, This refers to the number of birth of people per thousand of the population calculated on yearly basis.
This is determined by different way for example, When people marry early, they will have more children in their lifetime than when they marry late.

Another way is through the number of female in the population and how fertile they are to produce children. Health conditions also affects population. A healthy population would increase and maintain growth in the society than the ones that are not healthy.

For example, If people are infected HIV/AIDS or other diseases in the population of the society they are not likely to be healthy and grow the society. The knowledge and attitude to birth control measures also affects population in a society. And lastly attitude towards polygamous marriage should be stop because it affect population a lot. What other factors do you know.

Another factor that affect population is migration, migration is the movement of people from one place to another place or country to country. Migration makes population increase.

@Jackson2:

One of the factor that affect population is death rate the rate at which people die per person of the population. And it also determines the age distribution and standard of living.

Yeah a lovely one you got there when it comes to the factors that affect population. You have listed and explained some parts of the factors that affect population though there are still lots more factors that affect population.

There are lots of factors that affect population growth or decrease and we cannot overemphasize all these factors some of them I'm going to be our lighting now.

Just as we have mentioned some another factor that will need to consider his believe doctrine and religion all these play major factors in affecting population because someone believe that they should not give birth more than two or three or when they give birth to more than one they should kill the other These are also part of the factors.

Let me also talk about another point which is access to food, access to water, access to good medications and all these type so all these will also affect population if you have good access to food you know what food does to the body.

If we have good access to water you know what water does in the body or medication so this can give life or reduce the life of a person.

Hello and good morning.

This is a very nice topic. Thanks for bringing it up.

Just reading through already is making me reminisce of my secondary School daysand the subjects we did and our teachers.

While the issue of population and I believe our interest here is over population to be specific is very important, as a matter of concern it is one which is a matter of national concern world wide.

Everyday countries are trying to either reduce or increase the total number of individuals resident in their country, in other words the population of the place.

It is also interesting to know that the issue of population affecta businesses and institution.

Some business and Organizations seek after population while others finds ways to flush the excess of humans.

For example, in a higher institution of learning like a university or a polytechnic, whenever you get around such enviuyou can't help be notice the numerous numbers of people there, and that's good for the school, because of some reasons, the issue with that of schools is that the classrooms and learning conditions may not be conducive for effective learning.

However, looking at a business, there's a total number of people or workers who can be employed at the same time, so therefore what ever time the management feels the number or employees are becoming unbearable, they begin to cut staff. The bad thing here is that people get to lose their jobs.

Everyone who was written before me has outlined the causes of over population, I just wanted to attack the post in another light and direction.

Population can be a good thing and of relevance and also the opposite, depending on how we see it and the enabling environment.

There are many factors that affect population but let consider some
Migration this is the movement of people from one place to another or from one country to another country.

Secondly is high birth rate.when people give birth too much this can affect population rate we are using nigeria as a case study the population growth in Nigeria is becoming out of hand Nigeria population keep on increasing day by day because we record birth eve day.
Early pregnancy or marriage, when you carry out a statistical analysis of those young girls at the age of 16-17 years who has got pregnant then you discovered that 60% of then are unwanted pregnancy therefore they just give birth to babies as the case may be.
Another factors which affect population is war if it happens that there is no peace of mind in a country people can decide to made up their mind and go to another place where they will enjoy their lives.
