It is no longer a surprise that mother's are so possessive of their sons which leads to pampering them a lot while they discipline their daughters.
Many are regarding this as an anomaly in our society especially the African society.
According to research, mothers tend to be more critical of their daughters than sons , and admit to having a stronger bond with their boys.
Mother's praise specific characteristics in their sons and term them as being funny and playful but give derogatory remarks to their daughters who display similar attributes referring to them as " argumentative"
Sometimes, what mothers call love is actually pampering.
This probably explains why most male folks are prone to misbehaving and acting unduly. It makes them feel they can do things and get away with it. Taking corrections is very difficult for them too.
This kind of parenting makes the daughter feel very bad and tilt or seek for attention from their fathers or people outside the home.
In the long run, there seems to be a somewhat positive effect on the girl child who is properly disciplined as opposed to the son who is being indulged.
This explains why most female children can hold their own later in life, when compared to men.
Why then do mothers pamper sons even when it is to their detriment?

Mothers can be very funny and at times the reason why they do something is always funny or let me say it's less important. You see African culture has made our mothers very strict with us the ladies because they believe the lady's secret can't be kept for long especially when it comes to giving birth, pregnancy, or abortion it was all shown in your body.
I think they don't want a situation whereby the lady will do it out of wedlock and bring shame to the family. It's very rare for you to find out if the Son is doing something bad with his body except if he contracted a disease or is into internet fraud and he was being caught; apart from the 2 the mothers are less concerned.
All the above ideologies make the Mother to be more strict with the ladies and the ladies will start thinking the mother didn't love them but looking deeper you will see it's for your benefit. I would like to say that the mother should learn to balance things up; the boy child needs your strictness. Train all your children wisely and never be biased.

Why do mothers pamper their sons but discipline their daughters well, I don’t really know but my thought is that the mother since she too is a woman knows what’s best for her daughter. Let her not fall into the wrong type of friends that are in for prostitution or let her not give her body easily to any man except been married. Well for guys our body is quite stronger than the female folks so in that case, they are rarely strict with us only when the mother caught his son stealing and doing other bad stuff that’s is the only time, mothers are strict to their sons. I Believe the mother gives same sense of respect to his son as she gives to her husband too. The society makes it favorable for men and less favorable for women. Girls can’t easily get raped, men can’t.
Girls can easily get pregnant, men can’t.
The mother anchors more respect to the son because he is the man of the house and into has a lot to do for in life. Men’s world are totally different from a women’s world.

All is good to the mothers all children are supposed to be treated rightly not because of now but because of the future.
You don't know the one who will later take care of you in the future so let all of your children to be equally deal with no one should be left out for another.
Both male and female are important so treat them equal.
