Everyone has something they can do in the body of Christ. We all have different functions as everyone gets their gift based on the measure of grace made available to them.
These gifts help us to perform the role God has given us to play in fostering the progress of His kingdom on earth.
The gifts stated in 1 Corinthians 12: 6-10 are the means the Holy spirit uses to manifest and minister you lives. He uses humans as the vessel.
1 Corinthians 12:9 - "To another [wonder-working] faith by the same [Holy] Spirit, to another the extraordinary powers of healing by the one Spirit"
Recognizing and deliberately living with the consciousness of the divine deposit in our lives helps us to make an impact. It is our responsibility to discover and develop this gifts. They are not for show but for spreading the gospel of Christ. The Bible also instructs us to use this gifts diligently.
Every member of the body of Christ has a gift and they are to work together with other parts of the body to acheive the general and individual functions assigned.

Gifts are given to human being by God. Every human being has their own specific gifts. Some people even have it and they didn't know. Some have been using it but it get to a point they stopped using it. While some are yet to discover their gifts.
As a human being that want to serve God and contribute to life needs to discover the gifts God has deposited into his or her life.
To discover your gifts, you need to acknowledge God that is accept him as your personal Lord and savior because we can only know our true definitions when we are on the Lord side. He said before we are born he knew us. God is the only one in the best position to review our own self to us.
We also need to spend time with God. Have a personal time to study the word because mystery is hidden in the book. Only those who diligently seek what is written will get to know the answer behind the mystery.
When you finally discover your gifts, you are not to relent in using it. God excepted us to use the gifts for his kingdom. You need to train yourself well to know what it takes in using your gifts because God don't use untrained fellow for kingdom Advancement.
The bible talks about different types of Gifts. The gifts can be seen in 1 Corinthians 8-10. We have 9 Gifts.
Types of Gifts.
1. Word of Wisdom
2. Word of knowledge
3. Spirit of Faith
4. Healing
5. Working of miracles
6. Prophecy
7. Discerning of spirits
8. Divers kind of tongues
9. Interpretation of tongues.
God is so wonderful because some can have more than one gifts. 1 Corinthians 12- 11 says 'But all these worketh that one and the self same spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will'. That shows you can ask God for more gifts. But for God to be pleased and willing to give you more, you need to start using your gift for God. Use it for kingdom Advancement. God will be pleased and that will bring smile to his face.

God have us tremendous gifts in the body of Christ and he gave us to profit withal and for edification of ourselves and the church. It is in using of the gifts of the spirit that God gave to us that we utilize the main purpose of the gift. If we don't use the gifts , it can never the serve and fufil the purpose for which it was given to us in the first place.
1 Corinthians 12 verse 4-10 talks about the gifts of the spirit: Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5: And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6:And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7:But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8:For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit
9: To another faith by the same Spirit to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit
10:To another the working of miracles to another prophecy to another discerning of spirits to another divers kinds of tongues to another the interpretation of tongues
These are the various gifts of the spirit and they are 9 in number. Everyone have their unique gifts and they should utilize it very well so that it is not collected from them at the end of the day because that shows they are unfaithful and ungrateful for the gift the lord has given to them. For example: If you gave someone you so much love and cherish a gift and the person does not use it at all but just threw it somewhere and left it there, will you be happy with the person?of course not! if possible you will even collect and decide to give it to someone that will appreciate it and use it well, that when you see it on the person you yourself will be happy. That is the same way God feels when we dont make use of the gift that he gives to us. We need to cherish it and appreciate it to use it effectively.
The gift of the lord is free and should not be traded with money before using it, no it should be should always as the lord wants you to use it all to the glory of his name alone. Use your gifts wisely and godly so that it will show that you are a child of God indeed and if you do it that way it will open doors for you and make you will not stand before mean men.

This is going to be like the case of the men given talents in the Bible, the one that refused to use and make profit with his own ended up having nothing.
Once we discover our gifts, it is wise to use it.

The functionality of every man on earth is a determinant of what is embedded in them and how best that thing is being used. The thing is called gift(s), every man as it gift given to him according to their capacity and capability. It is gift because it is not that you worked for it or you merit it but it is voluntarily given to us. The word gift have been used in three dimensions or let me say in three perspective in the Bible the gift of men to men, the gift men to God, the gift of God to men, but our major concern here is the gift of God to men.
You failed yourself and not God if you fail to use His gift to you rightly. We have all spoken well on using the gift of God but I will want to shift our attention to rightly using the gift of God. With all sincerity, a lot of us are using the God given gift in our life's but the question is that are we using it rightly, are we using it to accomplish the purpose in which it was given unto us, are we not using to fulfil our own selfish interest, are we using it just because we want him to see that we are using it, are we using it just to get applauded by fellow men, whatsoever we are using it for if it doesn't glorify God then you are not using it rightly. Also, while using your gift it is pertinent for you to understand your audience, for instance, you have the gift of word of knowledge, word of wisdom but to who are you sent to, is it the children, teenagers, youths or adults. Rightly identifying your audience in the use of your gift is also very important.
Rom.11.29 - For God 's gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.] God's gift can't be collected back from you but you will be replaced if you fail to use it.

In 1 Peter 4:10, we're called to use our gifts to serve others as faithful stewards of God's grace. Peter was specifically talking about spiritual gifts like prophecy and healing.
Once we become believers in him, he will give us knowledge of our gift or gifts to use in and through his church. Even though we may try evading these great gifts, we can't. Many will not or do not recognize their gift and will sit idly by and never get the enjoyment of serving God with what he has equipped us with.
We can find a list of spiritual gifts in 1corinthians12-14 and Ephesians 4. Serving, administration, giving mercy , teaching, exhortation, prophesy, envagelism and pastoring are only a few of the gifts that God gives us. He also gives us abilities to use and perform the gifts he has given us.

Gifts are specially given to humans by God. everyone is special in their own way,everyone has that unique thing they can do that makes them special.
These gifts are given to us by God inorder to glorify him. These gifts are given to us inorder to perform wonders in christ. We have so many gift that has been given to us by God.
In the book of 1 corinthians 12:8-9:
8- for to one is given the word of wisdom through the spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same spirit,
9 - "to another faith by the same spirit, to another the extraordinary powers of healing by the one spirit"
Some people have not discovered their gifts while some have discovered and are using it well. Alot of people have discovered their gifts but are yet to explore with their gifts. Your gifts can be used as a blessing or weapon of distraction. You can use your gift to bless a lot of people or cause confusion.
Every one in this world has a gift, everyone is special and some people have more than one gift in them.1 corinthians 12- 11 says 'but all these worketh that one and the self same spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will'. THis shows you can ask God for more than One gifts.
For those that havent discovered theirs, you can only do that in the lord. Go on your kneels and ask your heavenly father to have mercy and show you your gifts.

Gifts were deposited in us by GOD to use it for His good pleasure - to do His will and that's what we must do with it. I believe everybody has unique gifts.
1 Corinthians 12 tells us about the type of gifts we have in the body of Christ:
- word of wisdom
- word of knowledge
- faith
- healing
- working of miracles
- prophecy
- discernment of spirits
- diversification of tongues
- interpretation of tongues
We all see this gifts in the Bible often times, but do we really know their meanings? A lot of us confuse one for the other - words of wisdom and word of knowledge especially. I will do well to enumerate these gifts and how to use them as the Spirit will be helping me.
WORDS OF KNOWLEDGE
This is a gift that deals with knowing things that have happened in the past. You might meet someone for the first time and you are able to tell the person about his/her history or just something that happened in the past. If you see yourself doing this often - it's the gift of word of knowledge. Jesus seeing Nathanael for the first time, knew about him and even told him what he did few minutes before (John 1:46-50). People tend to believe more when you operate in the words of knowledge just like Nathanael.
WORD OF WISDOM
It's just almost similar to word of knowledge. They are both revelational gifts but they are not really the same. People really confuse the two. Word of wisdom is about knowing something that is happening currently. It's more like sensing things. You are sitting with someone and all of a sudden - you could tell what he/she is thinking - he/she will be surprised and will ask "How did you know?". Jesus Christ used this gift a lot of times with the Pharisees and Sadducees, He could tell what they were thinking at a particular time and He told them (Matthew 9:4).
FAITH
This gift makes you to do impossible things, with a strong believe that it will be possible. Hmmm, Faith that moves mountain! I do fear this kind of people. They act recklessly (well, to humans, it looks reckless) and dangerous. There is this strong force that kind of pursues them to make radical decisions. Jesus walked on water! Kai! FAITH (Matthew 14:25).
HEALING
You just prayed lightly for a sick person and the person immediately got healed. You might just lay your hand lazily on someone or something of yours can mistakenly touch someone and immediately the person received healing of whatever diseases or infirmities. This is the gift of healing. The healing is part of you. That blood-victimised woman just touched the hem of Jesus' garment and she was made whole. Remember her? (Mark 5:25-29).
WORKING OF MIRACLES
It's kind of related to healing but it's not. You pray for someone for money and instantly the person received alert. You restore someone's amputated leg/arm to normal. The Blinds gaining their sights. A school result dramatically changed from "F" to "A". Jesus Christ turned water to wine (John 2:3-10), 5 loaves of bread to feed thousands (Matthew 14:14-20) and so many others - it's called working of miracles (John 2:10).
PROPHECY
This is telling of things that will happen in the future. "By tomorrow morning so so thing will happen". One's spiritual eyes is always open to see the future - the future can be next two years, the next one hour, the next five minutes. We have the prophets of the Bible that prophecized of Jesus birth and death. Jesus also prophecized the doom of Jerusalem (Matthew 23:37-39) and His coming again (Matthew 16:27).

DISCERNMENT OF SPIRITS
This gift is kind of a detecting gift - detecting things/spirits that are not of GOD. You are able to tell if someone is speaking of the Spirit of GOD or not. You detect lies. Most people with this gift can know if a Pastor is real or not. This gift is very scary - you see things others can not see (spirits). Paul operated on this by rebuking that damsel possessed with the spirit of divination (Act 16:16-18).
DIVERSIFICATION OF TONGUES
Let me explain what "tongue" is - it's the language of the Spirit. Once you receive Christ and you are baptized in the Holy Spirit - this speaking of tongue automatically comes into you. It's only left for you to develop it. As far as the Holy Spirit is dwelling in you - you will speak in tongues (Romans 8: 26) because of the Spirit that dwells in us.
Sometimes, our tongues speaking can depict a particular nation's language. People who use their "tongues" to communicate with people of other languages are operating in the gift of diversification of tongues. Like you want to evangelize to an Hausa man but you can't because you don't understand Hausa. Then you started speaking in tongues and this Hausa man seem to understand what you are saying and listens with rapt attention. This is diversification of tongues (Act 2:6-8).
INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES
Tongues are heavenly languages and we ourselves can't understand it sometimes but the ability to understand it means one is operating in the interpretation of tongues. Most times, people prophecy in tongues and people interpret it (in English or any language understandable by all 1 Corinthians 14:27).
In-filling of the Holy Spirit by constantly meditating on the word of GOD and communicating (praying) to Him will make one operate perfectly in his/her gifts, and will bless lives and generations to come.
Note that, these gifts can still work even if one has backslidden or committed sin because the gifts of the LORD according to Romans 11:29 are irrevocable (without repentance) Therefore don't judge a person's spirituality by his gifts.
We all have specific gifts we were born with but
1 Corinthians 12:31 tells us that we can covet earnestly any gift we want - meaning that it is possible to have more than one gifts. GOD is willing to give us if He sees that we will use it wisely for the advancement of His kingdom.

Every body has a specific gift been given by God, some of these gifts can be used for further purposes, gift are blessing from God specially grant to human being. Some of these gifts are singing, drawing,acting
These gifts are to be used in a proper way of life, every one are endowed with a certain gift it is now left for you to determine the kind of gift you have and make use of it in a polite way and manner

So we are to use our different gifts in accordance with the grace that God has given us. If our gift is to speak God's message, we should do it according to the faith that we have (Romans 12:6).
As God's children, there's something unique about each one of us we're all so uniquely graced and gifted by God. The Bible says, " and But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that" (1 Corinthians 7:7Open in Logos Bible Software (if available). Everything you are in Christ all the gifts, talents, and abilities God has given you are to be used for His glory. Whatever the Lord has taught you or is teaching you whatever He has exposed you to and helped you to know, are all for the furtherance of the Gospel. Therefore, find the opportunity to use them to advance His agenda of soul winning.
Prayerfully consider what more you can do for the Lord. What more can you contribute? Become available let others benefit from the Lord's investment in you. You may not even know what you can do, but as you make yourself available, God's Spirit will help you bring your gifts and talents to the fore.
The Lord has called and chosen you. He's counting on you He believes in you. He counted you faithful, and gave you the enablement, the supernatural endowment, to do His work: "And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry" (1 Timothy 1:12).
Look out for the need around you find out what's necessary to be done in the house of God and be inspired to action. Don't wait. Put all you've got into the furtherance of the Gospel. Be willing to spend and be spent for the Gospel. The gifts and talents that you have are for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12).

I will like to say that no man is born empty. Everyone is created and born with one gift or the other.The beauty of a gift is in it utilization not it availability.In Matthew the Bible gave us a parable of how a master was traveling and he gave gift to his servant. He gsvey one 5, another 3 and the last one 1. Scripture says that the one that was given 1 refused to use the gift given to me. And as a result of that the master was angry with him and casted him into hell for not making use of his gift.One of the things that God does those like is wasting spiritual resources.The tragedy of life is when u are born with a gift and you don't know that you have a gift.The gift of a man has the ability to change the life of a man. The Bible says "a mans gift makes room for him and brings him before great men".Once you discover you have a gift the next thing to do is to activate it by investing in it.By investment I mean personal development.You can invest in your gift by borrowing vessel (materials).Elisha told her go borrow vessels. Meaning you are permitted to go borrow materials like gospel materials like Christian books, cassette and journal to develop your gift.You can develop your gift by praying constantly and through studying God's word.

Gifts in us are God's given to us, he gave it to us because He want us to use it for his glory........ As a christian, We were given different gifts, gifts arent the same, they were given to us to fill up the spaces in the house of God....... So God is expecting us to use those gifts for him.... Some people has gifts in them, but they don't even know..... Some of them haven't discovered it yet,.... Some of the gift, are, speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues,teaching and soo on.....
So when God gives us these gifts, we are expected to use it for Christ..... Because he gave it to us to be useful for him.... The more we use it, the more God adds more to us...... We shouldn't make God regret of giving us gifts just as in the bible of the foolish one He gave one talent but couldn't use it for God...... Let's be useful for God, together with our gifts and talents

God has given every individual a special gift but it is left for us to materialise it. The Bible says blessed is the servant who apply wisdom. It is our choice whether to be like one of the three servants in the bible who are given talents and later they were asked to deliver.
Will you be the one that bury his talent?, or the one that multiplies it. The gift you have that no one else have it, is a special gift.
As they did to the servants, so will God do for you. He will ask you at the end of your journey. How do you use your gift?. We will all account to it.
The gift God has given you is the purpose for your existence, all other things are side attraction.
And if you fail to discover it before its too late, you have loose it.
If you neglect the work of God now, you will be abandoned in heaven. Your gift is your calling, don't joke with it.

Gifts to humans is a gift from God. God has created us and blesses us with different gifts. There are a lot of gifts from God to we human beings. When we accept God and also start growing in him the earlier we start realizing that he has blesses us with Gifts.
We can't discover our gifts except we are align with God. He is the one that created us and we can't know ourselves more than God because he's our manufacturer. So before you can function well you need to ask God about the gifts he has embedded in you.
After discovering your gifts, he also want you to start using it for the kingdom. Many people have neglected that fact and God is not happy about it because he didn't give us the gifts so that we can keep it to ourselves instead he want us to use it to advance the kingdom of God.
You also need to always grow your gifts because God don't use untrained fellows for kingdom Advancement. So after discovering your gifts you also need to develop your gifts by asking God to reveal more to you. You can also build your gifts by reading books and the likes.
Furthermore, you also need a mentor that can help you in building your gifts. Don't just choose anyone by yourself instead allow God to chose for you by seeking his face in prayer that he should direct mentors that will help you in the journey of life.
Finally, using our gifts is one of the best thing that can bring multitudes to Christ. Also have a proper character so that it will enhance your gifts. Always please God by using your gifts for him.
