Two undergraduates have been sentenced to death by a Kwara State High Court in Illorin.
The presiding Judge sentenced Abdulazeez Ismail and Ajala Oluwatimileyin ,to death for the murder of a 300-level undergraduate of the University of Illorin , Blessing Olajide.
Blessing Olajide was raped and killed by the duo on June 2, 2021, at her sister's house in the Tanke area of Illorin,Kwara State. She was a student of the Agricultural Science Department and hailed from Kwara state.
According to the judgement, the lifeless body of the deceased was found in the afternoon with bruises all over her body , her hands tied to the back and a towel covering her face.
A piece of paper was dropped on her chest with a message containing: 'No forgiveness for Unilorin student'.
Justice Yusuf also sentenced another student ,Oyeyemi Omogbolahan ,to life imprisonment, while two siblings : Abdulkarim Shuaib ( aka Easy) and Kareem Rasheed ( Rashworld), were sentenced to three years' imprisonment each for withdrawing money from the Guarantee Trust Bank account of the deceased a few days after she was killed.
While three others were discharged and acquitted by the court.
Former Attorney - General and Commissioner of Justice Salam Jawondo ( SAN) said the judgement went well , but that the irony of it is that those that were involved are very young men which is quite unfortunate. That goes to say that we have to work on our future in this country.

Hmm wow, wonder shall never end. What I don’t understand is the note. So they actually took the blame of it. It wasn’t by mistake but it was intentional.
These days, death of students are becoming a regular news, am not getting that goosebumps and am not surprise.
This is really bad. Precautions and drastic actions must be taken to take care of this kind of crimes and also to avoid it.
There’s no justice for murder of any kind. These young men must question about they meant in that paper and how many are they trying to accomplish the same goal.
