Some things we think is comfortable to do after eating turn out to be doing more harm than good. These some of the familiar habit we do after eating that we should avoid:

1. Avoid bathing
During bathing, the body's blood runs around to maintain the body's temperature. But a situation where you head towards the bathroom after just eating, the blood around the stomach neglects the just consumed food and joins other the part of the body to do what has to be done when we take shower, thus delays the digestion process.

2. No tea
Its best we avoid tea before or after meal for about a hour because tea leaves contains acidic properties that in turn affects food with protein content by hardening the food thus delaying the digestion because it takes the liver extra time to dissolve the content.
And also tea interfere with elements absorption in the body such as iron.

3. Sleeping immediately after meal consumption can also delay food digestion.

4. Smoking
When smoking after eating meal, it does more harm on the body because the nicotine mixes with the oxygen and form a compound with the blood that disrupt the supply of oxygen to parts of the body.
Parts like the intestine, with out the right amount of oxygen can increase the chances of bowel cancer.

5. Water
Benefits of water is numerous. Its popularly known for its role in digestion and hydration. But you never know that drinking water after eating has own it effects because when you drink water after meal it directly cuts of the enzymes and juice secretion that helps in digestion.

6. Avoid Fruits
Fruits are the best source of nutrition but when you eat it directly after eating a full meal, it alters the nutritional value of the full meal. The best time to eat fruits is after some interval after eating or on an empty stomach.

We shall avoid some habits after eating for easy digestion;

•We should avoid eating fruits after eating meal to aid easy digestion of food and to reduce chest pain and heart burns.

•We should avoid drinking water after eating. Drinking water after the meal reduces the effects of enzymes and juice in our stomach which causes indigestion.

•Avoid drinking coffee and tea after eating, also avoid exercise after eating to avoid indigestion in our body.
We should avoid smoking because it can lead to digestive problems.

•we should also avoid taking shower after shower , because the blood rushes to the skin to regulate the temperature of the body which lead to digestive problems in the body .

It's good you mentioned not eating fruits after your meal.
According to research, this is a major cause of cancer.

We do things ignorantly in Nigeria sometimes because the media promotes certain things to be right whereas, they are dangerous to our daily living .

Fruits work better when taken BEFORE MEALS because they prepare the stomach for the meal which aids digestion.
