SPORT: Mason Mount ordered to leave Stamford Bridge after Fernandes arrives Posted on February 3, 2023 By John Owen Nwachukwu

Former Manchester United striker Paul Inche has ordered Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount to leave Stamford Bridge following the arrival of Benfica's Enzo Fernandes.

Chelsea completed an English record £115million move for the Argentina World Cup midfielder in the just concluded January transfer window.

England international Mount has made almost 200 appearances for the Blues since breaking into the first team in 2019 and winning the Champions League two years ago.

The 24-year-old has been a regular for the Blues for the past four seasons, but is currently struggling, with three goals in 27 appearances in all competitions.

Now Inche believes the mountain is "tired" at boyhood club Chelsea and insists he must leave west London.

Ince expects "rejection" at Chelsea following the club's new signings and said Mount should settle elsewhere and seek "new challenges".

Ince told BoyleSports: "It's funny because two years ago Mason Mount burst into form, everyone was shouting about him and he was guaranteed to start for England."

"Because the manager has changed, he has lost his way and Chelsea are trying to sign whoever they can now, so it will be difficult at Stamford Bridge.

"Sometimes it's good to take on new challenges because sometimes you can get old if you stay at one club for too long. Doug is old enough to play every week. He's a very talented player."
