Politics » Nigerian Youths Are Weaklings by: Ninoevans(m) .:. Thu, 23 Jul, 2020 - 02:31:23:pm GMT
It is sad to see this great nation wallow in abject poverty because our leaders are clueless and lack vision. Nigeria is blessed with abundant resources but the nation is finding it difficult to harness these resources and generate revenue for the betterment of the polity. Our states governors, rely heavily on federal government allowance when they can look inward and harness the resources in their stay.

We have political weaklings that are now dancing to the tune of shame in the National House of Assembly. The probe on the NDDC scandal shows that none of our leader is free from corruption. They all skeletons in their cupboard and play out a script to the general public as if they are working. When Akpabio wanted to give fact about how the National House of Assembly was part of the scandal, they quickly shut him up and put off his mic. As a result they were unable to probe further for fear of being implicated.

Instead of the youths in the Niger-Delta Region to stand up and call for the total overhauling of the NDDC, they are busy making fun out of the probe on social media platforms. Some are still supporting the current regime by comparing it to the past regime. It is so bad to see youths that are suppose to be the future leaders of tomorrow act like weaklings and people without vison. Until the youth understand their role as primary watch dogs to the activities of the leaders in their states and local government, and hold them accountable for their actions, Nigeria will continue to wallow in abject poverty. In the words of Chinua Achebe: indeed, there was a country called Nigeria.

The way it is, I think one of the major problem is because the youths are dependent on the leaders. many of our youths are not innovative at all, some don't even have skills. Let me give an instance, a youth that has no job and finds it difficult to feed these days will not even have time to think of the country other than to survive. Our leaders are yahoo men scamming their followers. But even when we know that they are wrong we can hardly challenge them because they are the one's in power. See Sowore recently that was agitating, it was God that saved him if not he would have been a goner by now.

The youths are weaklings but it will take a whole lot for them to be motivated to stand up against the leaders. The NDDC case was not surprising now. What of last year when they said snake swallowed money in the office, and many more cases like that. These leaders already knows they can get away with almost anything they do. It's just for them to press the right button

I totally agree with this article as Nigerian youths of today are ready to pick up their phones and be commenting, chatting and making fun of what they are supposed to stand up and fight against.

I noticed that in  the developed countries, their reasoning is totally different as the young are massively standing up for their right and taking their places as regards building the economy and politics at large.

They know their rights and they confidently go for it. I now see young and youthful ladies and men rising up to take the bull by the horn and contesting as prime ministers and presidents with full support from other youths.

But it's all different stories here in Nigeria as the youth themselves are used against themselves. You will see youth going against their fellow youth and looking for excuses of inability to lead due to inexperience rather that standing up and taking the future for themselves.

As we will all agree with me that we were told that we are future Leaders from our childhood days and the memory has been carried all along but till now it's like the future promised was a myth.

Like seriously, we are really weakling.
We are always afraid to say the truth, not even those that are receiving some tips from the government, that they cannot say the truth again.
We ought to be strong for us to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Most youth have given up already, they now catch cruise to be happy. Well I can't blame them, it is the system of the country.
But if we can come together to fight this government and revive back our right, this country will he better again.
Imagining taking student for criminal. Is that not insane.
Most of us, we don't know the right thing to do, we are just using the social media for fun, and not creativity.
It is high time we rise from our slumber before the old ones take advantage of us.
We are meant to rule the world. We are not slaves. Let's stand up for our right.

@Damilola: I feel you're right to a certain extent.
The corruption in the country has eaten us up as well.
We are not even better that the leaders we are criticizing.
We need to imbibe our selves with the right ethics and morals as this would help provide the progress the country needs.

It's a real pity what is happening and allowed in the Nigeria state.

It has become so bad that it now feels as a norm in the eyes of everyone that only a hand few can boldly speak up against the acts of unreasonable acts.

However, we shouldn't put much of our hopes on the government, or any of it at all.
Though they have a major role to play since we are citizens and residents of the country. But within our powers at all times, we should always try to do those things which would better our lives and those of others.

I still believe in the youths of this great nation. Even in the political sector, there are still one or two persons doing something good, which we would hear or see in the nearest future.

Let's all keep developing our selves, our future and that of our dear country is in our hands.

Thanks sirs and mas

If you say nigeria youth are weakling not all nigeria youth because our did and though are of different types .
Some of nigeria youth are been used by the politicians and they where been paid the money given to them has taken away their Mind set of thinking positively.

Every body won't to get rich quick that is why no body wont to say the truth .
If any youth take a step of any thing in the society they will try to assasinate him or her by all means and because of these every one remain silent.
When I say silent not like that but the country future depends on the youth sera's the youth are weak .
This is a complicated issue.

If Nigeria is going to be a better country, the change has to start from its citizens.

We need to shine every form of corruption and make sure honesty and sincerity is our major goal.

No one is going to make Nigeria a great nation but us.
The great future of our country lies in our hand.
