Sports/Games » Liverpool second home loss to Brighton by: Cletus(m) .:. Thu, 04 Feb, 2021 - 07:10:06:am GMT
The reds slipped to a second successive home league defeat, leaving them knowing only a win over Manchester city on Sunday will keep them in the hunt. While all eyes were on sunday main course, jurgen Klopps side made an almighty mess of their Wednesday appetizer losing 1-0 at home. Liverpool next match is now Manchester city, man city still in form with their home win and away, pep guardiola side already seven point clear of the champion with a game in hand. City record at anfield has been recorded that they have not won there since 2003, 68 games anfield league. Games unbeaten, they have lost their last two, the first time that has happened since 2012, they have failed to score to their last three on home soil, Liverpool played all night without netting Brighton, despite their performance against Tottenham and west ham, Liverpool played yesterday game without Allison Becker despite his illness, caoimhin kelleher the young Irish man, did fine as Brazilian deputy, sadio mane and fabinho both could return against city. The sad fact is however, that having waited 30years for league title, it looks increasingly likely that their defence of it will end in disappointment. Andy Robertson said we aren't in the race for the title. Liverpool losing form despite majority of their player having injury. This sunday against Manchester city hopeful we see sadio mane the left winger and fabinho the defensive midfielder.

Hmmmnn.... This is one of the worst games I've ever watched as a Liverpool fan.

The team was so sloppy from the beginning of the game to the end.
Atleast Jurgen Kloop should have tried one of the defenders he bought in the game.
The defence line of Liverpool was terrible in that game.
Brighton also took advantage of the fact that Liverpool had a vunerable backline and it paid off for them.
A player like Origi should have left Liverpool a long time ago.
He has no zeal or commitment to play for the club any longer.
Origi came into the game in the 62nd minute and he had no contribution to the game.
He was so sloppy and he looked tired.
Jurgen Kloop really needs to change his backline.
A player like Jordan Henderson should be at the midfield and not at the centre back.
If he doesn't makes changes at that backline quickly, he should be expecting more bad results.
Kudos to Brighton for a game well played.

@Vickybrown: I also I am a Liverpool fan, Liverpool might have sold origi out of the team since, let look at the chance he saw against Burnley a one on one spot he lost it, it is clear known that Liverpool has error in their defence, player like van dijk, Joe Gomez, fabinho. at least as a coach jurgen Klopps was suppose to start Ben Davies ahead of the game, the new man ozan kabak also watched the game against Brighton seeing that their defence was a bad one. Shaqiri was meant to leave Liverpool but his performance as a substitute a gamechanger made him a starter which made jurgen Klopps call him a secret weapon. Looking at the pass he gave mo salah with counter attack, was a brilliant one. Hopefully we see sadio mane and fabinho ahead of Manchester city.

Things don't go the way we plan it,as the adage foretells it would seem that is the case that is on the Liverpool Fc issue now at their home ground at Anfield as they have now made a ridiculous switch from a great twenty-seven points above Manchester city to a twenty-five points gap behind their rivals as they now sit in the position of their rivals months ago.

They have now suffered a massive Five home defeat in a row this season the first time in several years after being regarded as the team with the best home record in the league over the years but now they switched to the worst team recording five straight home defeats in the league in one season.
This is not a good omen at all for the Jurgen Klopp boys as they will have to work as twice as hard as they used to in order to change the situation in their favor, they are currently outside the top seven right now and there are some teams above them that still have outstanding games meaning they might finish below the top seven this season.
Yes,we know they have Been forced to play without  some key players especially in the defense as their top three defenders are currently out due to injury, but they have tried to combine different platers to keep it solid at the back but they just can't get it right. I feel Klopp needs to go back to the drawing board and see what's pulling their strings down..

With Liverpool languishing in the 6th position with 43points.

Another loss of Liverpool again at Anfield.

As they lost at home to Chelsea 1 goal to nil.
With the goal scored by Mason mount in the 40th minute.
Chelsea looked so bright from the start of the game to the end of the game.
With Tuchel going for a 4-3-3 formation.
Jurgen Kloop went for his famous 4-3-3 formation.
Starting the likes of Mohammed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sado Mane.
Liverpool looked like a shadow of themselves in the game against Chelsea.
Chelsea scored a goal in the first half from Timo Werner but it was ruled as offside.
Sado Mane has a chance to score for Liverpool, but he missed his kick.
After the goal was scored by Mason mount.
Chelsea looked more brighter in the game..
In the second when Jota came into the game.
Liverpool took a lot brighter in the game.
But they could not score against Chelsea.
The game ended 1-0 in favour of Chelsea.
Leaving Chelsea in the 4th position with 47 points.
While Liverpool remain in 6th  with 43 points.

There are a lot of things going in that Liverpool squad right now.

They have turned from champions to doubters.
They have now lost 7 consecutive times at Anfield.
                                       In the English premier League.
Which raises a lot of questions on what is wrong with the squad.
People believed that the injury crisis in the team is affecting the team.
But I feel there's more to it.
Besides they are not the only squad with injury crisis.
The earlier Jürgen Kloop comes up with a solution to this issue in the squad.
                                              The better for him.

This team called Liverpool Fc need to search for what is the reason behind their downfall on their home ground these days now they have been able to win zero matches while at home in their last six games. The board need to reassemble to discuss how to overcome the current situation.
The Manager as well needs to come up with the ultimate strategies and tactics that will change their story in their next game at Anfield. With the way they are losing at home am not sure they can win an away match if they were going to play an away match this weekend.
The players need to ask amongst themselves what is the issue and the leaking points that is making them concede goals and not able to score when they have the chance to do so. It will be a sad news if after winning the league last season they then finish this season below the top four.
Yes we know they have injury issues concerning their defense and the big men are still not yet available for selection for the team, and this is one of the effects they are suffering. Now they know thy need more defenders, I believe they will correct this mistake next season...

@Davidee7:. I feel the major problem Liverpool has is fatigue.

The likes of mane, Sallah and Firmino have been playing for Liverpool week in week out.

The manger of Liverpool kept on sticking with this attack.

Instead of getting one or two players to support the team up front.

Now that the attack is no longer productive.

There are no other options in the attack.

The Reds seems to have a way to keep winning in the league as at last night they were winners in an English Premier league matche encounter against Wolverhampton wanderers at Molenu stadium.
The Liverpool performance last night in that game was just above average, having being able to score just one goal and securing that goal till the end of the ninety minutes.
Diogo Jota came up with the goal as it was a finish that sure looked a winning goal for the Reds as they played in that game away from home. Probably they have more efficiency away from An field...

Re: Liverpool second home loss to Brighton by: Nagiano(m) .:. Mon, 28 Jun, 2021 - 04:06:41:pm GMT

2020/2021 season was one of the worst seasons of Jürgen Kloop as the manager of Liverpool.
First things first it started with Vandjik being ruled out of the season after a clash from Pickford.

Followed by injuries from Joe Gomez and Joel Matip they had no center back in the team.
Liverpool lost their unbeaten record at home to Burnley followed by six straight losses at home.
Which is their worst record at home in history.
But all the same they eventually made the top four position booking a place in the Uefa champions League.

The new season would commence next month and the likes of Van djik, Trent Alexander Arnold, Joel Matip, Gomez and Chamberlain are already back from injury.
With the arrival of new signing Konate to Liverpool, Liverpool's defense line looks more solid than ever.
But I feel the front three of Liverpool needs serious competition if they want to actually make progress in the premier League this season.
The likes of Mane, Firmino and Salah didn't actually live up to expectations last season as they found it hard to find the back of the net at some point in time last season.

There's been a lot of changes this season for Liverpool as they have being winning every single they have played this season aside the draw they played against Chelsea.
It shows the coach is getting things right this season in like last season.
