They are lot of attributes a leader should possess. A leader should be self disciplined, out spoken, trust worthy, reliable, confident and above all he must call respect.
People have tried different style to leading. You lead by showing, by participating, by coaching, simply by giving oders.
Leadership is not all about staying at the top and commanding people to do things for you. As a leader you must set examples for your followers to flow.
Leadership is not about controlling or commanding others, but by giving them directive on how to go about things that are to be done.
As it is said leaders are servant. For you to lead you must first serve.
Leadership is knowing what is to be accomplished and taking drastic action on achieving them. Respond to all questions asked until they are entirely clear and well understood by others.
As a leader you must show respect to your followers, regardless of your position. Your position as a leader does not give you the right to show disrespect to your followers, you have to keep telling your followers how good they are or can be. Build them into having self confidence, help them discover their potential, make them believe they can do it even when it seems impossible.
As a leader anything you do will be seen by others as the mark of a genius. So make sure you always do things right, because your followers sees you as a role model and they want to follow your footsteps. To be a good leader you must treat all your followers equally. The moment you start giving preferential treatment to some, the others start having negative feeling towards you.
As leader you must learn how to work with information, get information about your followers, know their likes and dislikes, treat them with love and respect, that's the only way you can get their trust and respect.

A leader an individual that has high authority to rule or conduct people. A leader show interest to the people and need, a leader to rule requires appointment, as you said leader set a way for the follower to flow because the people look unto them as a leader. Leadership means carry other along for example, the government in Nigeria pay low interest to the people that elected them to rule. A good leader must bring him or herself low and be humble and also have conscience, a leader must show positive characters to the people he or she controls an also be creative and be productive as a leader. A leader carry the people to achieve a common goal, a good leader produces encouragement and empowerment for betterment of the people

A leader is once a servant, and the higher the leading, the more the commitment. A leader is assigned or raised to a post by people and people are capable of withdrawing the so called leader from his/her post of honour.
A leader must put the people first before any other thing. A leader must humble to seek advice from his followers.
A leader must lay down a good example to his followers, by taking the responsibilities of a servant. 
A leader is not served by the people, a leader serve the people.
A leader must be wise enough in dealing with sudden situations or unresolved problems. 
A leader must supers his followers with almost everything.
A leader must be conscious and God fearing.
A leader must not be self centered. A leader must be able to face the people in time of hardship.
A leader must be wise enough to judge rightly.

Leadership is the act of  leading. A leader is an individual who guides, leads or directs his or her followers and even inspires them. A leader must have good attributes so as its followers would be able to respect and abide in his or her orders and even the leader itself. Some of this qualities are as follows:
 1. Integrity 
 2. Communication
 3. Empathy
 4. Self awareness
 5. Gratitude
 6. Sympathy
 7. The ability to risk
  Now we would discuss each of the following attributes of a leader as listed above.
 1. Integrity: is the ability of always honed and to have a good and strong moral principles. A leader should be able to have his dos and don'ts, his yes should be yes and his no be no. A leader who does not have integrity as one of his principles might or will not be able to lead his followers correctly.
 2. Communication :is the process of conveying information between or among individuals. A leader must have a good communicative skill in order to influence his followers. Imagine a leader that does not know how to communicate with his followers, it would be a waste of time. Passing a good news and able to influence them into the hearts of his followers is a good thing so that is why a leader must have a good communicative spirit.
 3. Empathy:is the act of understanding ones feeling. A leader who is not able to understand his followers is not supposed to be called a leader. After having a good communicative skill, he should be able to understand their feelings, what they want and what they do not want, what they abide in and vice versa. A leader must be able to inspire his followers.
 4. Self awareness : as the name implies, is the ability of a leader to be able to understand his own personality and be conscious of his environment. If a leader is not self aware about himself, he would not be able to understand his followers. This is a good attribute that a leader should exhibit because a leader cannot lead when he does not even understand himself.
 5. Gratitude: is the ability to appreciate. A leader who is not always appreciative cannot be able to lead. Whatever the circumstances or situation, a leader must always appreciate it. If a follower should give his leader an advice, instead of the leader to accept it  look into it(whether it is a good advice or not) and appreciate it, he rather declines it and therefore punishes his follower. It is bad. A leader must appreciate anything that comes his way, either it is materialistic or physical thing.
 6. Sympathy:is the ability to share feelings to others, especially those that are aggrieved. A leader must be able to feel sorry for his followers misfortunes.
 7. The ability to risk:is a possibility of incurring loss or damages. A leader that is unable to risk for something greater can not be able to lead. Risk could either bring a positive or negative result.
 So here you have it, there are many more attributes a leader must have but these were the ones I could get. So if you are a leader and you do not have any of this qualities, check yourself.

Leadership ranges across different things. From the act to servitude to personal and learned abilities. A leader is one who shows his strength as well as his weakness. He is not afraid to acknowledge how weakness with the hope of being better. A leader is one who understands the heart of his people or followers. A leader is not a boss nor an authoritative personnel, he is one who listens to what his follower has to say, acts as much as possible on what is being said and settles disputes amicable.

A leader is one with foresight, who has the capacity to pool resources together to achieve a vision, one who envisions a thing and sees it's completion. A leader is one with tenacity and determination. He doesn't relent at the slightest set backs but strives and strengthen others to go on.
A leader is one who is out to serve his people. Those who follow him look up to him for direction and guidance.
Everyone could hold a position but not everyone can be called a leader.

Well, i will say leadership starts from followership. To lead you have to follow. To follow means to look up to someone or to follow someone while to lead means to direct, guide and to teach a person or a group of people.

Leadership is also a matter of the heart. To lead means you have to be sacrifice something's. 
As a leader, you have to have it in mind that you will have to sacrifice your time, your money, wneren and all that you have.

As a leader, you have to live a life that is worthy of emulation. That is, a life that people can learn from, a life that when copied it will be to the glory of God.
How can you live a life worthy of emulation?
You live a life worthy of emulation by being ;

1. A person of integrity. This issue of integrity nowadays is a thing that most of us have forgotten or don't even know the meaning any longer.
Living a life of integrity as a leader is really important, why? The day of assessment will come eithrr in your presence or behind. So, if you have failed  in  living a life it will be a shame on you  and that of your followers.

2. For you to be a good leader whose lifr is worthy of emulation, you have to have a good leader yourself.
You have to have someone who will always keep an eye on you, someone who can scold you, someone who who tell you when you're getting thimgs wrong and when you are over doing it. What I am trying to say is you have to have a mentor. A person who you will also follow so that you won't fall off the trend.

3. To be a worthy leader, you have to be diligent in what ever you find yiurself doing. Be it a cleaning job, mechanic job, you have to be diligent.
When you're diligent you also teach your followers even without opening your mouth to speak but they will see and emulate.

Even the Bible says, do you see a man diligent in his work, he will not stand before ordinary men but before Kings and queens. So as a leader, you have to be hardworking.

To be a leader, you need the help of the highest, greatest and the ancient leader which is Jesus, so move close to him today and he will help you to achieve all you think is hard as a leader. Shalom!

  Firstly, if you want to be  a leader, you must be ready to serve, what influence a person have over the people around him will speak for itself, there is no age limitation to leadership, to know who a true leader is you have to understand that a true leader is not so quick in displaying intelligence, a true leader have this understanding that either he does things in group or by himself ,he understand say that knowledge or wisdom truly cannot just exist or grow exceedingly without being inspired by others, a true leader understand that no man is an island. 

   
  Leaders are not just limited to leading and other people following them as the name implies it is far beyond that, these people that follow them look up to them as well in making the best of choices , the choices made by the leaders are also driven by the kind of people they listen to , to make the decisions. Everyone have a role model , everyone have someone that inspires them whether alive or dead, admiration and respect goes round and round , it is a cycle. Leadership is about making a plan not just any plan but a good plan and making sure that plan goes according to the way it is planned to make your followers go and lead them through the right way and through the right path to the right achievement.

  In companies for example, if there are more losses compared to profit, if the workers are not being motivated rather they are forced and oppressed, by the strict rules made by the leader you will find out that things wouldn't really move on well, even if the leader is getting it wrong by thinking that if he starts firing them from their duties there will be improvement, the truth is there won't really be any improvement, when he is around them will be when they will act and pretend to be zealous and active when normally they are not, a leader encourages, motivates and inspires his followers to do the right thing things in the right way.

  Now in summary, what should a leader really do, he or she must be active,he must be a goal achiever,a leader must have a convincing ability,a true leader must be understanding, he must be a source of inspiration , every one cannot like the same person but in the little way he has he can touch lives positively and inspire those around him, if a leader is seen to be a role model by his followers, his words will be taken with seriousness and accepted by his followers, a true model must be hardworking, insense that as much as he directs people to work for him he must even work more harder than them, let his hardworking speak for itself, this will make his followers to want to be like him without him taking any disciplinary actions of any sort of them, you will notice that where there is good leadership goals are achieved and more wins are added to the organization board.

Hmmm! This is one of the inevitable positions in life. There is no way one will do it, at one point in life, the stage of being a leader will definitely set in. You see, being the leader is not the main focus but being an effective leader is the major thing. I do say something that the most difficult thing to do is to lead human being. The stubborn creature is human being and this is majorly because of the fact that we all have our differences and it usually takes a lot of time before we can come to agreement. So, as a leader, it is pertinent for us to understand this. The leadership position is full of a lot of responsibilities in it. It is a position that requires one to be a servant and also to be a leader at the same time. Of a truth, as leader, there is chances that some of your followers or subordinates will be knowledgeable than you do, it is possible that your followers might have skills than you do but this does not mean you should be envious of your followers but it should rather make you to buckle up and upgrade yourself. It will be a mess as a leader when you are not making yourself to increase in knowledge as a leader because followers at some point in time will want to let you down. Let’s take for instance, if as a choirmaster or choirmistress  you can’t handle any musical instruments, it will be a big slap on you when the instrumentalists fail to show up as at the time you needed them most. Also, if as a professional in a particular line of trade, you must ensure that you can use the technology applied to that profession to reasonable extent.
Therefore, the position of being a leader is a good one but the question is that are you ready to pay the price.

Am  starting with the definition of leadership, what does leadership means leaders is an ability of an individual to coordinate, guide, direct, organized and lead a union of people  or we can say leadership is to give  command, control other people affaire. 

That will now bring us to what is called leadership styles, leadership style is the technical way which a leader use to carry out his or her duty, or leadership style is an application of approach a leader apply on his followers. Some one who is considered to be a  leader will definitely has followers, followers are the people headed by a leader, we have leader in so many areas father is the leader at home, while principal  is the leader in the college, as a leader you can not just take decision on your own personal views but you have to carry along all your followers, discuss together share thought together, as a leader you should give room for questions and also provide possible answer to those questions been asked by the followers, a good leader usually has some attribute such as 
He or she must be intelligent 
He or she must be kind he or she must have a great leadership style and skill. 
A good leader should be a good listener

Leadership is a big role and this role needs a lot of good qualities in order to fit in. Many people want to be a leader but not everyone is ready to learn what it takes. There so many challenges that a leader will faced because there are up and down in leadership and it takes the grace of God to overcomes it. 


Firstly, a leader needs to be very patient. There's a saying which says "The patient dog eats the fattest bone". A leader without patience can never lead his/her followers successfully because there's no how you won't be faced with a conflict/misunderstanding between your followers. You are leading different people with different temperament so the best way you can used to lead them is to take in yhe sprit of Patience because it's the only key that open the heart of different people. 

Secondly, a leader needs to be fully committed to God because that's the only help you have. God understand s people more than you do and the reason is that he created each and everyone of us so for you understand and be able to lead them you need to have a good relationship with their maker. 

Furthermore, you need to depend totally and hear instructions from God. Don't allow your followers be the one giving you instructions though am not disputing the fact that some can give you advice because the bible says that in the multitudes of counsels there is safety. But make sure you make God your first and over all instructor. Looking at the life of Saul we can see the way people misled him and that action he took make him lose his crown. I pray non of us shall lose our crown in Jesus name. 

Finally, don't choose yourself to be the leader because you might end up frustrated but allow God choose whosoever he want to lead his people. The reason is that when God chooses you he will never leave nor forsake you unless you  walk out of his ways.

    For a group of people or an institution to be strong, the quality of its leadership has to be good.  Good leadership makes it easy for a group or an institution to work towards a common goal. 


    People tend to follow a leaders examples and direction. However, the qualities and achievement of a leader also depend on the qualities and achievement of those who follow. 

    In other words,  a good leader is made by having good followers and good followers are made when leaderships is good.

      All social organizations and institutions are made up of people who show or tell member what to do,  and people who listen and carry out instructions, so that the goals and objective of the group can be achieved. 

      
       The people who are in a position to tell members what to do and sometimes how to do it. Are the leaders. They direct and guide people. Those who are told what to do and how to do things, are the followers. 


       A follower trust a leader and agree to follow his example,  instructions or advise. Their roles are followership roles but they play significant roles in leadership. 


  In some organization,  a leader maintains his or her position for a long time,  perhaps several years. In other organizations,  the leadership change more regularly. Some leaders lay down firm rules and practice for their followers. Other let the followers decide what the whole group should do,  acting only as advisors.

       Leadership exist at various levels:

  * At family level: 
       The father is the leader.  He protect all members of the family. He works to provide food,  shelter and other material needs for its members. The father train the children how to behave in society.  In doing all these things,  he gets the support is his wife or wives. In this way,  family leadership responsibilities fall on both the father and his wife or wives. Other members of the father follow the example and leadership of both the father and mother. 

 * outside the family group:
         The group you probably know best or among which you play has young people of about your own age. This group is called your age group or peer group. Usually, member are equal,  but occasionally you have a leader.  For example,  if you want to play football or other games, you choose a leader or a captain. 

      Sometimes when you want to do some work,  you select somebody who divide the work and when quarrels break out,  that particular person is usually looked upon to settle them.  He or she is the group are followers.

       The discussion about the qualities of a leader  should give you some idea about the roles of a leader. 
 
 Whoever is selected as a leader
assumes a great responsibility, as the success or failure of the group he or she leads depends on how well the leader has performed. In general terms,
Leader directs, coordinates and works with his people. 

     Perhaps the most important role of a leader is for him or her to understand the people he or
she leads and their needs. If leaders understand their people, they will be able to plan to give them the level of leader they need. The people will support
a leader who wants to help them improve their lives and make them happy.

     A leader should be at the forefront in times both peace and of trouble. He or she should be able defend the people at all times. A leader should  show 
a good example in all his or her words and action. 

     Some wise people say that 'example is better than
precept'. In other words, leadership by example
better than leadership by words of advice.

    When a leader makes sure that he or she obeys all the laws of the land and does not feel himself or herself to be above the law, then those who follow
will also obey the laws of the land. When a leader
participates in community work, the followers will be  encouraged or motivated to work too.

     After getting his mandate to lead, a leader should try to find out what the group needs and then think of the best way to fulfil the needs.

   For example, the people in a particular village might need water, electricity, good roads, a school and a hospital. Their
Leader might have to ask the community he leads to
provide some of the materials or labour so that the various projects can be completed. This means that both leaders and followers need to work together to get what they want.

    A leader should trust and respect the ability and judgement of his or her followers and must, therefore,
discuss issues with them. In return, they must be honest in their opinions. The leader must not regard his or her followers as people whose views do not
matter. On the contrary, a leader should see himself or herself as 'first among equals', who needs the support or his group in order to lead.

   An important way of achieving this good relationship is by having effective communications
between the leader and his followers. A leader cannot always reach all his or her followers in order to communicate with them. 

  So the leader makes
Sure that ideas and information reach those who follow him through the use of agents. In their turn, the followers  use agents, sometimes the same as
the leaders', sometimes, their own in order to give the leader information.

A leader should always be honest,loyal,kind to their followers every leaders will definitely have followers.


A leader should never be corrupt a good leader should always put their followers first.

A leader will be respected if he or she is worthy to be respected.

Leadership is a position that needs a person with good qualities. Serving as a leader is a privilege that shouldn't be taken for granted.

A leader is someone that's placed above others but meant to serve others. Assigning someone to a leadership position needs a lot of criteria to be met because some rules and regulations guide the position.

A leader must be someone that's not selfish - a selfish person can't lead people alright. The position is not for those with the "All about me" mentality, instead is for those with the "What of others mentality".

A leader needs to be patient and always ready to listen to other people's opinions. You can't always be right as a leader - that could cause some problems. Leadership can't be done in isolation; it needs the input of others to make the goals achievable.

A trustworthy leader is unique and special; you need to make people believe that your Yes is Yes and your No is No. When your followers start doubting you there's a tendency that the association or unit might not last long.

A leader must learn how to shun every act of gossip - never should you as a leader take sides instead measure judgment fairly to everyone involved. Don't let others see that you have a favorite; learn to love everyone and show it to them that you love them.
