The Lagos State Government has warned residents against the unapproved variation of homes.
The Director,Public Affairs, Ministry of Housing , Adeola Salako , in a statement,quoted the Permanent Secretary, Minister of Housing,Lagos State, Kamar Olowoshago, to have observed that there were various contraventions by residents of Abraham Adesanya Estate, Ajah , particularly in alteration of homes without due approval from Ministry of Housing .
He further stated that safety standards have been compromised and the original prototypes of the estates have been altered.
To this end, the state government will not overlook pertinent issues such as safety of buildings and town planning requirements geared towards making Lagos State a model mega city and 21st century economy as this would help in solving the accommodation problems the state.
He noted that some partners were not following standard safety guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Housing while others went beyond their scope in changing designs or increasing the number of homes without recourse to the Ministry.
