Some time ago, while walking somewhere on the streets of Lagos, some young jobless men shouted at a woman walking past, 'Sister, cover your breast, she wasn't undress, really, just wearing a low neckline blouse which I thought was not inappropriate for a very hot Lagos weather.

Well, i turned round and responded to those guys: "Why should she cover them when you can take your dirty eyes away. for effect, i stuck out my tongue at them and walked away. I didn't wait to see if the girl involved appreciated my unpaid solicitation or not.

I did it more for myself than for her. Sometimes a woman needs some air on her body and i don't think she should always factor some yeye guys.

Anyway, in the past few days, I have spent researching about this matter in other were there weather is warm, not as hot as Nigeria, but for people who probably live in perpetual cold weather, it seems a big deal. One thing I noticed is that everybody is wearing something short and with a low neckline. Young, old, fat, thin, obese, voluptuous everybody seems to want to get some heat on their skin.

Sometimes, I am walking on the street and wondering if I could cut my jeans into pieces too just to prove a point.

I see no reason for women to go undressed. Our climate here can be quite hot in some seasons but that is not an excuse to go undressed.

There are  light but decent  clothings both males & females can use in hot weather conditions.

Since we know the kind of society we live in, it should not cost us anything to dress decently & avoid embarrassment.

This is also not an excuse for wayward guys to take advantage of . Any guy caught raping & gives indecent dressing as an excuse for sexual abuse will bear the brunt of it.

A word should be enough for the wise.

Hmmm! This is somehow and we need to be careful in handling it. Dressing in the life of human matters a lot, it is expected that we dress not just because of dressing but o ensure that it does the necessary. As a lady, we are not just meant to dress but we are meant to cover up what is necessary to cover up. Everybody understand that their might be heat sometimes and you might need some cool breeze but don’t you think that will be good when you are in you home and not while on the street or public transport. It is high time we begin to understand that every exposure should not be beyond boundaries not because of anything but not to lead some young mind astray. So, you should be mindful of the way you dress. Of a truth, you are the owner of your body but that doesn’t mean you should do anyhow with it. So, if you don’t want people to talk or address you anyhow just because of the way you dress, do well to dress well and responsibly.
Guys, it is time for us to also begin to face what we ought to face and not facing what we ought not. If you know you can’t walk head straight up while in the street or bow down your head while in the public transit why don’t you just stay at home rather than you looking for woman that is not dressing properly up and down. Get busy with your time, get busy with your day, be focus with your life and find something better to do.
So, both parties should help eachother in order for one not to lead the other astray. Ladies always learn to dress properly to avoid any form of embarrassment and guys, learn to also take your eyes away when you come in contact with such dress on a lady. May God help us.

You have a good point of reasoning and argument when it comes to defend a fellow lady that is to be molested or wrongly assaulted in the public by the lesser educated ones because their reasoning and way of action is different.

If the ladies can start this course it will be a very good one and this would drive some changes positively which will change the orientation of lots of people and the way they approach the ladies in both public and private generally.

Meanwhile I will like to say that NIGERIA is a developing country and we are still very much behind in many areas because our various beliefs, cultures in my.erous forms, traditions and different kind of practices.

Because of all these and many more factors I would say that Africa is a bit different with the way we still reason. I will say our ladies should not try to go undressed or to prevent exposing their private and sensitive parts as much as they can in the public.

This presently would give rise to different reactions and because of various religious beliefs and traditions different people would see this as opposing to their fate and beliefs. There are other people outside there that might want to also make some negative moves.

Hoodlums outside there take advantage of the the ladies and they would have finished with their evil acts most times before help could arise. Descent dressing goes along way to set the lady to be respected just as the saying is.

Dress the way you want to be addressed this is a true saying. If a lady dresses half naked it gives rise to different attractions both good intentions and bad.

Well I don't see anything wrong with what the man did.

There's a saying that goes thus.

Dress the way you want to be addressed.

You cannot dress like a harlot and expect people to respect you.

Things don't work that way.

Ladies please note that modesty is the key.

When you dress decent, you command respect.
