Politics » HOW DO WE SURVIVE IN NIGERIA? by: Ogiejoe(m) .:. Thu, 11 Nov, 2021 - 04:09:32:pm GMT
Yesterday, i went to the filling station to get fuel and i looked at the meter and it occurred to me that i am buying it at 165# per litre and it is the same amount i have been buying it for more than a year in Nigeria. Same yesterday, i was called that the cooking gas is finished and i left work to buy and again, cooking gas is now 8,500# for some months now. returning back i stopped by the market to get some things and my 15,000 that was with me did not get me half of what i wanted to buy and i stood one place and puzzled, how do we keep going on like this in this country. It took me about 5minutes to think about all this just standing one place.

*A Dollar is almost 500 Naira now and the things sold in Nigeria are mostly imported and we have to buy them in the rate of the dollar.

*The foods in Nigeria is becoming less because of insecurity in the North which is stopping the Northerners from Farming as they are being slaughtered daily by Bok👎Haram, ISWAP, and those Bandits.

* The youths and young men because of joblessness are going into robbery stealing from the poor and all we hear is killings and robberies in Nigeria.

* The Government only concern themselves with how to win 2023 election and are willing to go any length for them to win it and they don't care what is happening in the country

* The people who protest and speak their mind are being arrested and killed usurping the people from their rights

* Health workers are leaving Nigeria as only few doctors are seen in the hospitals

* The schools are getting worse and only fees hike is what is now happening

* Roads are in a terrible state in the country

If not for God, how do we survive in Nigeria?

Hmmmmm!!!

That's my first reaction reading this post. The rate at which things and essential commodities have risen and are still rising is alarming.

These are the same commodities that we were getting from almost half of the price for some of them. They are now sold for times two of their price now.

What has caused this change is a number of things in which the writer has also outlined like the rise in dollar and reduced farming in the north, etc

But like the post says, how do we survived in Nigeria?
It's a question that we all have to really think about before we give any answer to.
The prices of things are not going to drop suddenly, so that means, we would still have to buy things the way they are.

What that also means is that, we have to keep making money, more than we can spend even.
There's this funny saying I heard once, which goes "what money can't do, more money can do".

We have to have skills, or have a particular job. Develope ourselves and sharpen our work, so as to remain relevant and get greater rewards for our labor.

Unless you have money to leave Nigeria, you have to survive here.

It is only God grace that can keep us moving in this country, there is no help elsewhere. The fact is that, we are rugged in this country, we find all means to survive, despite the hardship.
Inflation has now become the order of the day. We now struggle just to put food on the table. Salary is nothing to write home about.
A man that is collecting 50k as salary, in this time, how will he cope with his family when things are cost. To eat is a problem not talk of having savings.
We really need God mercy in this country, more than before.

@Damilola: I don't think I'm buying into the idea of we need God to intervene in our situation in Nigeria.

God is just there looking waiting for us to take that right step.

Heaven helps those that help themselves.

The major question we should be asking ourselves is what step have we taken to make this country a better place.

We keep blaming the government for everything when majority of us are not even better than those In power.

We live in a country where the government exploits its citizens and it's citizens exploit themselves.
This same citizens would be complaining that the government is not doing well.

If we want Nigeria to be great, we have to start the build up from the scratch.

Which is from the society.
We are a product of our society. A bad society will only produce a bad leader.

We are only reaping from what we have sown.

@Taofeek:

You are wrong. Nigeria would have been better if the leaders were upright. With so much crime in America, the system is still able to control everything because they have a working system. Nigeria crime is caused by the government and if the system is working well, Nigeria would be better than most countries in the world. It is how the people see themselves that made them or forced them to be what they are right now.

Look at the North, if education and jobs are available for them, do you think this number of Bandits and bokoharam would have been like this? They are the creation of the government

How do we survive in Nigeria?
This is a question I keep asking myself every single day.
Things are just going from bad to worse every single day and nothing is being doing about it.
We're suffering and smiling just like Fela said.
We are the architect of our problems in this country.
Not until we start doing the right thing, things will go from bad to worse.

How can things be better in a country where people still receive bribes for to vote for a corrupt politicians.
How can things be better in a country where there's a high level of religionism and tribalism.
How can things be better in a country where cyber crime fraudsters are celebrated in the society even by most of their parents.
A country where the right things are regarded as the wrong thimgs and the wrong things are regarded as the right things.
The change we want from this country begins with you.

This is very sad indeed .
Saying how do we survive in Nigeria .
This is what I can say , criminal activities is very high in Nigeria because the youth have nothing to do and they will eat then they will find means anyhow , there is no day you listen to news that you wont hear bad story.

Our politicians are just been concerned about how to take away all our resources both monetary and materials.
Food items is too costly at the market our survival is very limited only the rich people are enjoying .
Lord change this country for us.

Gradually the country is collapsing , we have president and all others members of the executive , my question is what are they there for , they are there for us to live in peace anf unity .

The Nigeria problems affect every angle in the country if you are an entrepreneur in which you have your personal business if people do not have money to purchase goods from you ,you can sell ,the salary earners arw unable to receive salary .

Our survival is in the hand of almighty most high God.

If not for God, I don't think there's any other way we can survive in this country.

The government is subjecting us to serious hardship in the country, things are going from bad to worse.

No employment, no jobs poor security etc....
I don't think there's any way out than for God to intervene in this situation of our country.
