Religion » God will guide you out of temptation if you trust him. by: Tony4mega(m) .:. Sat, 26 Oct, 2019 - 11:09:37:am GMT
Temptation is all around us. It will knock at your door, it will bang on your window, it will try to sneak its way into your heart. But when you feel lost or that your faith is wavering, when you feel like your guard is slowly breaking down-pray, trust. Know that God is stronger than any temptation, and if you trust Him, he will rescue you.
"You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world."
I John 4 vs 4.
Always believe in God and his words, then you surely not be a victim of temptation .T

As children of GOD we are bound to encounter and experience temptations on this our journey of FAITH.
Temptation is categorised in two ways:
It's when one is being enticed or allured to do things that one feels are wrong.
The devil is the tempter,
"And when the temoter the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season."
and Matthew 4:3
If the devil sees that we are Christians and we are being resolute in obeying GOD'S commandments, he will come to tempt us and call us to fall. The devil tempts all the time, from the above scripture, the devil left Jesus for a season, not for a lifetime. When you rebuke the devil, he will flee for some time and comes back again. So we must be ready all the time to resist the temptations of the devil.
What are these temptations we are talking about?
For instance, we know the Bible speaks against adultery and fornication (Deuteronomy 5:18, Hebrews 13:4). The devil will want to cause us to disobey GOD'S command by using means to weaken our resolve, it can be by music, movies, friends and books. This is how the devil tempts, and if we give in, that's it! We've fallen!
How do we not fall into temptations?
*Word of GOD
The tempter is not resting,
1 Peter 5:8(kjv)
"Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."
We have to be at alert and vigilant to know when the devil is at it with his temptations. Most of us are spiritually insensitive. We are spiritually sound asleep. Jesus told his disciples
"And He said unto them, *why sleep ye*? Rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptations",Luke 22:46(kjv)
Are you sleeping?..., Please rise!
Then we need to pray also for strength to resist temptations (it's not physical strength). Luke 22:40(kjv)
"And when He was at the place, and He said unto them, pray that ye enter not into temptation."
We need to pray all the time, one who prays all the time is never caught unawares because GOD is there to guide.
We also need to study the word of GOD often and to meditate and know it. Jesus Christ rebuke the tempter (devil) by the word.
The word must be in our heart
11. "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."
When the word is in our heart, we won't fall into temptations. The word must be rooted in our heart, if not when temptation comes will will fall away
13. "They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away."
Let the the word of GOD be deeply rooted in our hearts.
Temptation also is an adversity: a state of misfortune or calamity.
GOD allows or gives the devil the permission to hurt us just to test and try our FAITH. We are all familiar with the story of the Faithful Job in the Bible, how the devil was given permission to hurt him and his family just to test Job's faith in GOD.
GOD is still doing the same today, many of us are victims of persecutions, problems, financial challenges and the likes, we have to stay strong. GOD cannot give us the temptation that we cannot bear
1 Corinthians 10
13. "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
GOD will definitely give us a way of escape!
And do you know what? We have a crown of life to receive at the end!
12. "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him."
Glory to GOD!!
Just endure till the end like JOB and GOD will reward you. He just wants to confirm if we truly LOVE Him.

Temptation is the intentional act which induces a person, by some thing very desirable which is always gratifying, it leads to disobeying and losing focus on God. Most times we realize that what we are tempted with is always something we desire - could be materialistic, a height in the spiritual realm- yes, some people want to heal the sick, make prophesies, but they can't, as the results of this they might be tempted to go into diabolical means. Make sure your desires are purified and kingdom minded - for the benefit of the kingdom of God and acknowledging that your source is Christ alone.
In John 15:5, Jesus says that without Him, we can do nothing. We need to learn to lean on Him for help with everything in our lives. Temptation is something that serves as a danger to believers and the ministry of Christ in the world and the one way to be victorious is leaning - trusting in Him. Trusting God means toatally depending and believing in Him - his love for you and His power to help help you. Most times we trust our friends, more than we trust God which is wrong.
Another way to be delivered from temptation is to have faith in God - his promises in his word. For faith to work, it must be accomplished with a submissive heart that has been given to God. We can be victorious by strengthening our inner man. James 4:7 - "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you". The devil is the source of every temptation. God does not tempt ( James 1:13). He only test the faith of man.
We must also never assume that because we are in Christ, we are exempted from temptation. So it is very wise to trust God in those times and also purify our desires.
