Are you sure of what you're saying, wasn's he the one who declined Nigerians call to play for super eagle because he expected to be called by England?

True, he declined Nigerian calls hoping to be called into the English team, but at the end, he missed both national teams

@Kissy: wow lovely to see that you are much aware of football and history of John fashanu.

There was a time that he came to Nigeria that he wanted to start a foundation like that but people later made it known that he was doing that to rob many people.
I wouldn't know if that was true or not but many people have said that he had some negative motive which was very bad for his record.

I could remember those years that he will be advertising some foundations like that on different stations but suddenly I think everything just went down like that because there was record that he duped some people though I am not sure of the fact but in any way want to wish John fashanu best in his career.

Well as we know it is believed that John Fashanu turned down Nigeria call up to play for the national team.
But when he was asked in an interview why he turned down a chance to play for Nigeria, he said it's because he was not called up in the first place.
He said in the interview that he tried his possible best to play for Nigeria, but they said he was not good enough to play for the national team.
According to the technical adviser then, Otto Gloria it is believed that he stated that his British style of football would not suit the Nigerian national team in any way.
That was why he didn't play for Nigeria. So it's not his fault as stated earlier on.

@nagian👏 I think it was his fault to a certain extent and it was not his fault as well.
John Fashanu was so interested in playing for England that he was less concerned about playing for Nigeria.
But when he realised that he could not get a chance to play for England, for wanted to play for Nigeria.
But the coach of Nigeria was not interested in bringing him to the team because he felt he would not suit Nigeria style of play.
So I feel it's his fault to a certain extent.

Frankly speaking John fashanu really hard fame and he made his name so popular that most people knew him but I think fortune went against him and things did not working out as much as he would want them to work out.
He was a very good footballer during his time but there is this thing about talent, talent will pave way for you but one needs to add character to it and just like it's been said in the holy book that a good name is better than silver and gold so it's good for someone to keep his good record because information spreads fast most especially for those that are at the top because most people will see you when you are at the top and one needs to be really careful.

I'm laughing at myself as I make this comment.

I'm really not a football fanatic, and nothing about it, excictes me. (Sorry to no one...lol)

But what I'm shocked about is that I don't even know or never heard of the name John Fasanu.

However I now know. Thanks for the update @Muyiwaa2j
