Fully Dressed For Daily Victory
Ephesians 6: 10-18

There's one thing every young professional must always remember – you are in a battle. Especially in this prime age of yours. There's a battle line drawn between light and darkness, between righteousness and unrighteousness, between truth and error.

And the devil is all out to capture and make a believer subservient to himself forever.

Paul the apostle admonished the Ephesian believers to remain seated with Christ” and walk in the spirit”. He thereafter gave a final charge: Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6: 10-11)

Question 1: What does Ephesians 6: 12 teach us about the reality of life' battles?
For we wrestle" present continuous wrestling. The goal of the enemy of our soul is to rob us of our inheritance in Christ. The enemy isn't your co - worker, neighbour, uncle, spouse, etc. These channels may however sometimes be employed by the devil to unleash his evil pranks.
Daniel's faith was tried while in Babylon.

He was confronted with the pressure of false worship, faced with threat to quit praying, threw into the Lion's den, opposed by the prince of Persia for answer to his prayers for twenty one days and wrestled till an angel came to his aid to defeat the devilish agent suspending the answered prayers. With whatever means the enemy confronts a young professional who believes in Christ, victory is sure. If you must live a life of daily victory, you need to stand, put on the whole armour, "and fight the good fight of faith".

Question 2a: What are christian young professionals mandated to put in order to be fully equipped for daily victory?
If we must win, we have to be fully guarded just like a soldier on a mission to a war front – put on the whole armour for warfare.

Question 2b: According to our text, explain the significance of each armour and their practical applications in the lives of Christian Professionals.
In Ephesians 6:14-18, Christians are charged to be armed with:

The Belt of Truth – a belt is used by soldiers to keep their trousers fitted on their waist, and to hang some useful tools. Christ is Truth personified. His word is "the truth". In these days of rising falsehood, we need this belt to keep every area of our lives stabilized and firmly fitted.

The Breastplate of Righteousness – A breastplate shields a soldier’s vital organ – his heart - from arrows that would otherwise be fatal. This righteousness is imputed by God when you come to Jesus for cleansing. Not works of righteousness done by men. Righteousness guards your heart from the enemy of your soul.

The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace – A Roman soldier wore shoes (sandals) studded heavily with nails. These nails were firmly placed directly through the sole of the shoe for increased durability and stability. In our days, trending news that doesn't edify spread so quickly. God wants us to be ready, prepared and prompt to proclaim the gospel always. The bible, filled with God’s promises, brings peace to man’s soul.

The Shield Of Faith - A soldier crouches down and hides behind his shield when targeted by enemy arrows. As believers, we are to hide behind faith – the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1) Arrows of doubt, fear, discouragement, despair and unbelief abound. But faith in God and His word will protect you if you hide behind it.

The Helmet of Salvation - Helmet protects the brain from injury. Salvation, which comes from Jesus, is the believers’ Helmet. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) Jesus saves from sin, and He is ever ready to deliver you from whatever keeps you captive – an addiction, emotional bondage, wrong relationships, unhealthy mindset or a stronghold.

The Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God - The sword is used to stab the enemy. The word of God – written in the bible, and dwelling in your heart and mind – is your sword. Jesus used the Word to exercise authority over the devil. God’s word is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two - edged sword.(Hebrews 4:12) Read it, meditate on it, and declare it over every situation in your life.

Persistent Prayers – Prayer is the believer’s lifeline. It takes you into the realm of the spirit where you wage war and gain victory. Pray without ceasing(1 Thessalonians 5:17) The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man availeth much(James 5:16) Therefore Pray!
Question 3: What are the dangers of not being fully armed as a Christian soldier?
“Put on the WHOLE armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11) We are to put on not some of the armour, but the whole armour. If you have the helmet without the breastplate, the enemy will target your head. He’s always scheming… devising ways to get at the believer.
Be always fully armed.

You are fighting from a stance of victory, because Jesus has already won the battle. The whole armour is found in Jesus. Stand and claim the victory available in Christ Jesus. Like an author wrote, “You are not fighting for victory – you are fighting from victory.”

So we believer, christian we need to be strong in the lord cause he is the author and finisher if our faith. Because if you are not strong in the lord you will be an easy target for the devil and his angel.
