I don't support the idea of praising worker even before he does anything that requires praise. You can say you are really trying. It's better to put it that way than to say you are going to do a great job. That will only come up when the worker is on a project and you find out he's doing it well. But if the worker is on a project and he's performing poor. You have to let him know the reality that he has to put more effort. It's better to encourage than to praise. That's just the true fact of him. Make him know he's wrongs than he can quickly amend it. Then once he amends it rightly. You can now praise him. You can praise someone performing poor. That is why every worker in any organization is expected to work hard cause you are been paid for what you are doing. So, you don't expect the manager to start praising you even when you've not performed well

Always make sure you encourage your workers, yelling at them doesn't do the trick. Because you are the boss doesn't mean you say so offensive stuff to your employees or you cut they salaries short. Always make your employees free around you so that they can be comfortable sharing ideas on how to take your business to next level.

I believe in encouraging your workers, most workers needs that encouragement in order to work efficient. While I was teaching then my boss would always go around checking on the teachers and when she sees you are not getting somethings well she gently shows you how it's done and commend you on your past work, the way you don't feel bad, ashamed or belittled. When we go out atimes for awareness at the end of the exercise she buys some stuffs and give to us as a way of appreciating without knowing she is also encouraging us. We have to the rights to stay back home during this period but because we know that at the end of the day we get to have something no matter how small it is. At the end of a term she gives us gift and says thank you to us because she knows it's not easy teaching kids and hope that we don't get tired. I feel when you encourage your workers you just put them on another gear which makes the worker faster and fun for all of you. You don't always have to give money or buy something, your kind words, the fact that you show concern towards them is enough. Encouraging them not only help your worker but it helps you. How do you feel going out and hearing only good things about yourself when you move out of your comfort zone.

@Gooddypye: hope you know that when you praise them like telling praising them about the last job well done it will boost their abilty in doing the remaining work. Even God enjoys been praise when you do that He allows more miracles and breakthrough to come your way. Same as to man. Praising them is just as if you are adding or catalysing their ability.

This is so true.. praising your workers is not something that should be too difficult to do. People tend to want to do their best when they know there is a level of expectation their bosses have concerning them. Not eye pleasing par say, but doing their best to maintain that impression their bosses have of them. Even if there is no form of benefits in terms of finance especially, they will still want to be on top of their game. It's called recognition". Every one wants to be recognized for something.

One of the best ways for any manager to inspire his or her workers is by encouraging them at work and praise them when the finally do the job well. Everything in live has its good and bad side so in this case the manager has to look for a way to moderate it because when the manager does it too much, the workers might start taking advantage of that previledge.

Encourage a person mean confidence or hope.is good to encourage your worker's, for instance where I stay if I cooked for them they we say thank you and after finish eating they we say thank you God bless you ,by saying that to me it give me strength to cook again for them no matter how I tired.they don't think that they are the one provide the food. Please let learn how to appreciate or encourage people around us not only our worker's. Some people will think that they can not do it but if you tell he/her that he can do it,it will have strength to try it. Please let know how to encourage not to discourage.

It is an important factor and mode to employ at work to your staffs or workers. I did this when I was a supervisor in a hotel and I got a 100% loyalty from staffs. This approach hardly be employed by bossy folks but for any wise person on the management team will do this wisely. Money don't buy loyalty and loyalty to the job as stake is sacrosanct.

Most of the people think praising workers or honored them make them reduce their work or make them feel they're important than who they are
But with my own understanding admire workers or praise them make them do more work and work with diligently, with passion

In every organization the workers should be given adequate encouragement in other to boost their ability of working perfectly.
Some time it is not about the salary you give to them but your attitude as a boss, your way of talking, the way you approach them.
Some people work in a place because of the way the leader treats them ,encouragement is part of how you treat your subordinate so that they will perform their task as expected.

Many African employers make the mistake of not encourage their staff.
This is one reason many organizations are not making it on a broader scale.
You get back from your employees what you give in to them.
At the same time, some employees begin to feel too important once they start receiving praises from their bosses.
It's a two way thing

This is very true.
God bless you.
I wish many employers will learn this truth.
This relationship between employer and employee is equal and opposite. The employer is not better than the employee. The employer needs the employee as well as the employee needs the employer.
Most employers become rude and ungrateful because they think that they are doing the employee a favour. But the truth is that they're both doing each other a favour.
The difference is the job discreptions. Their responsibilities are deferent.
When someone does something appreciate them. Vice versa.
May we receive wisdom.

Praising your workers is very essential if you want your business to thrive. Many bosses don't know how to celebrate their workers. All they know how to do is to query their workers whenever they did something bad but never for once encourage them for good work.
A business owner should emulate some traits from the federal government. We all see the way the federal government treats workers, especially during the festive period: the amazing thing is that the federal government doesn't just treat them well during the festive period alone there's a certain package for their welfare.
It's good as a business owner to emulate such traits and appreciate your workers before this year runs out. You can decide to do a mini-get together or buy something that can be shared with them all. When doing such a thing it is advisable to it do according to your budget: don't do what you regret.

Yes, encouraging your workers is a good practice as it can lead to many benefits for both the workers and the company. Encouragement can help boost employee morale, motivation, and engagement, which can lead to increased productivity and job satisfaction.
When workers feel appreciated and valued, they are more likely to be loyal to the company and take pride in their work. Encouraging workers can also help create a positive work environment, which can benefit the overall company.
It's important to note that encouragement should be genuine. Also having a bit of fun moment between the employer and the employee can create a positive atmosphere, that makes the employee want to do more just to gain the smile of his or her employer. Encouragement such as bonuses and incentives can go a long way. But over do it, most persons loves to take someone friendly attitude for granted. If company or simple business in Nigeria, takes this into consideration and act, most of the Nigerian's business will be much better.
