The champions of English premier league 2019/2020 season Liverpool, has been facing a lot of injury crisis this season. They are currently in the third position on the table with 17 points, 1 point adrift first position Leicester city.

It started with Virgil van djik who had a cruciate ligament injury after a Everton's goal keeper Pickford. He's been ruled out of the season.
Alexander Arnold is suffering from an hamstring injury followed by Robertson who has an hamstring and Joseph Gomez who just sustained a knee injury while playing for England.
Practically the whole backline of Liverpool is injured followed by congested fixtures of matches coming up in the coming weeks.
Do you think Liverpool has what it takes to retain the league title despite all this injuries??? What's your take on this guys??

Winning a trophy is not based on the number of injury a particular team suffers but it is a very important factor to consider. I could remember when manchester United won the Europa league and Carling cup under former manager Jose Mourinho, some of the players limped to lift the trophy while Marcos Rojo lifted the trophy with clutches. That season was an injury plagued season for the Manchester club but they still ended it winning two trophies.

So my point is that liverpool fc might be plagued with injuries but it doesn't rule them out of the title contenders position, in fact, they are still very capable of lifting the premier league title. And besides, the season is still early and some of these players might not be out for long. Assuming all their key players has injuries that will put them out of the season then that would have been a very big problem for the club. But since that is not the case, they are still very capable.

@nagiano:it's obvious u're nor too aware of the injury crisis that Liverpool are facing this season. Their back four is injured. I.e Vandjik, Joseph Gomez, Alexander Arnold and Robertson are all injured and right now those that can fill that space are just Nathaniel Phillips, Rhyl Williams, Neco Williams and Joel Matip.

We all know that Matip is inconsistent and injury prone, how to u expect the team to cope without this back four. Looking at this season Vandjik has been ruled out of the season, followed by Joseph Gomez.
To some extent they might not feel the absence of Joseph Gomez but Vandjik's absence would be felt alot because he's the best center back in the English premier league and any team that plays Liverpool would want to take advantage of their vunerable backline to defeat them.
Remember there was a Vandjik factor in the last league they won, and he played all the matches when they win the league.
I think Henderson their great captain is also injured which is also a big blow for them.
Always remember that the team with the best attack wins games but the team with the best defense wins the league.
From my own point of view I don't see Liverpool winning the league this season due to their vunerable backline.

Liverpool Fc, have really started the on going English Premier League 2020/2021 Campaign brighterthan any other of the big six (6) clubs in England. Despite suffering a huge defeat at the hands of the underdogs Aston Villa Fc, they have fought back brilliantly with having to keep and maintain a good run of form ever since their humiliating defeat at Villa Park.
They currently sit second(2) in the current league standings of the race to the English Premiership title. The manager have done quite a great job in the club right there in Anfield. The players have also put in a great solid performance since the new season began, not just in the Premier league but also in the Uefa Champions league.
Now, they are current heavily hit, or struck with lots if injury blows and infections affecting the club, with most of their key players ruled out for some weeks. And they now have to deal with what so ever resourceful players that is at the their possession right now, in order to maintain their good momentum and dominance in the league.
The league surely, considered the most difficult league in Europe and also the most unpredictable league in the world, these facts can still work in the positive favor of the Reds, the reining champions of England. But they just have to find a way to get past the struggle of injuries currently affecting the team at the moment, as it is not a good omen for them.

@Veune717:

I want to believe that there is a possible solution to the current issues or problems which is currently affecting the reining champions of England, Liverpool Fc. The manager Jurgen Klopp, surely must have a thing or two in mind in order to keep his side in a good shqpe, despite the injury issues that they are currently dealing with at a time like this.
Jurgen Klopp, is a manager that is most of the times confident in his strategy and tactical style of gameplay. I am almost eighty-nine percent (89%) sure that there have been some adjustment made by the manager, to keep the morale of the players as well as their psychological ability in a very good shape.
The players have also been given the opportunity to prove their worth to the world and in the Premier league that they are good products of the English Premier league, that is, the new players and the academy players that have been put in the squad to fill up the gaps. Like the defense where a Virgil Van Dijk, is missing due to a six months injury.
However, the front trio of a Sadio Mane, a Roberto Firminho and a Mohammed Salah, will not be as fierce as it used to look, with both players of, Roberto Firminho and a Mohammed Salah out or sidelined for a positive test results of the noval corona virus. Which means an opportunity for Diogo Jota and Divok Origi, to prove how excellent they are...

@ojc(E):

I am very well aware of the injury crisis that liverpool fc is currently facing and I'm still reminding you that it was a similar situation for Manchester united too under Jose Mourinho few years back. Mourinho had to at some point be playing Manchester United academy players in some Europa league matches that season.

So whatever liverpool is facing now, doesn't make them the first club to experience it. Fine it will affect them drastically, but it is another opportunity for Jurgen klopp to show the world that he is one of the best coach in the world.

@nagiano: Well I don't think Jürgen Kloop has anything to prove to the world, he's shown how magnificent he is, coming to Liverpool at the point when they were languishing in debts and poor form.

He turned the team from doubters to believers in just five years, winning the champions league and also winning the English premier league. A league Liverpool has never won for the past thirty good years. He's a good coach no doubt and he would always get my respect any time any day as one of the best coaches in the world.
But looking at this squad with the injury crisis and the transfer window which is still in two months time, winning the premier league title looks so important for the coach.
Liverpool's four incredible backline is injured and the only experienced defender available for Liverpool is Joel Matip. I won't be surprised if any news comes up that Matip is injured because that guy has been plagued with alot of injury ever since he came to Liverpool.
The other centers backs available are Rhyl Williams and Nathan Phillips who are inexperienced and trust me those guys do not have what it takes to hold Liverpool's defence against any opposition team.
Liverpool's attack looks splendid and they would score goals no doubt but trust me with that kind of defense, they would concede alot of goals and that is why they are far from winning the league this season. So I would not tip Liverpool for the league this season.

@ojc(E):

I don't dispute the fact that Jurgen klopp has already proven to the world how good he is. He is a very good manager and one I respect so much. But sometimes even the best managers flop when their team is faced with a problem that they have never experienced before.

I don't think in the history of liverpool fc they have ever been plagued with a lot of injury issues like this before. Like I earlier said, Mourinho was faced with this same issue and he surprised everyone even when no one expected him to win anything.

Real madrid current coach, zinedine zidane have also been faced with a similar issue and he won the champions league that season. It was in that year that he made players like Marco's Asensio and Achraf Hakimi become more valued by the footballing world.

For a coach like pep Guardiola, I doubt if he will still stay in Manchester city if they become plagued with injury in the same way liverpool is affected now. So my point is that Jurgen klopp has done it before and he can still do it again. But it still remains a very big issue to be considered as far as winning the premier league title is concerned.

Well the injury problems that the defending and reining champions of the Premier league, Liverpool Fc, are dealing with at the moment is something which is almost common or bound to happen in the game of football. But this case is quite a but serious and judging by the issues of club I believe the manager will be able to get past the Foxes.

Judging by his status and his class, Jurgen Klopp, has the quality and the ability to almost get past the issues which the club is facing right now. The absence of the captain and the front deadly trio, will surely be a huge disadvantage but he still has a Diogo Jota whom has been quite productive.
I strongly believe in the game play of the manager, and i still feel that the reining champions will be able to savage at least a draw if they can't get all the three points after the whole 90minutes. So it will be a difficult game, but it will turn out in favor of the Reds.

Well the answer to this question, has just been partly (50%) answered, after witnessing the wonderful unexpected performance from the reining champions of the Premier league, Liverpool Fc, against 2 weeks league leaders, Leicester City. I strongly believe in the Liverpool Fc club that they have what it takes to retain the title.

The manager, Jurgen Klopp, as expected always has a plan C for any game in the league or in any competition he is participating in. Looking at the preview of the game the Reds were tipped or rated at an equal ratio of 50:50 with their opponents to get at least a draw in the game, after 90 minuted of action.
However, it was quite a great turn around of the situations, by the manager and this is the kind of stuff the Premier league was made for, having known that the odds were almost against him he managed to turn things around.
Kudos to the Liverpool Fc players, for not allowing the overwhelming situation to bring down their morale and lessing their chances of getting the positive end result of the game.
They had dominated the game from start to finish and even the match statistics were all in their favor as they ran away with all the 3 points and all the goals in the game. Diogo Jota, Roberto Firminho, and a Jonny Evans Own goal gave the Reds all the goals needed to win thus game...

@ojc(E):Your point is not completely true bro, Arnold is injured, Virgil is out for the rest of the season, sallah is also facing some corona virus issue, Gomez is out too, a couple of other players are not as well fit but Andy Robertson is completely fit, as a matter of fact, he played very well and made an assist in the 3-0 victory against Leicester city on Sunday. Again, fabinho that was injured is now fit and was at the heart of the defense for the reds along side Joel matip who is also fully back. Alcantara has also been seen back on the training pitch and could be back with the team any moment from now. Though Naby keita has been going on and off the pitch since the beginning of the season, he played for about some minutes before going off due to another thing that looks like injury but can be a big bull if he Is on the pitch.

Yes, Liverpool is facing a lot of injury crises and that is a big factor for clubs especially in England, but for this Liverpool team, I don't think injury can be a stumbling stone for them not to retain the league this season.
Over time, people have been talking about the consistency of this Liverpool team for about four four season now and the only thing they could relate that huge success to is luck of 'injury free players'. I find this rather hypocritic because during those periods, more than one of our key players have gone 3 to 4 games missing and that couldn't stop us from becoming the champion. This team has been prepared so long for times like this and that is why you see players that can fit in different position where ever you turn to in the team. When Virgil was out at first, people thought it was over for Liverpool but the amazing fact is that they haven't lost a game since their best defender is out. Gomez took up the mantle and he did was doing a great job until he is out again, and now fabinho is doing a great job as well. sallah is out but jota is banging in the goals, Arnold is out but Milner is doing fantastically well, Henderson is out but Jones and Gini are brilliant. I tell you, injury can't stop this Liverpool team from retaining the league this season and I look forward to that.

@Gbasky:

A die hard Reds fan, Liverpool GC, well your are very right and your positive status is also a good one, because after watching the game against 2 weeks league leaders Leicester city, I realize that, hey its Liverpool, and this is England, they are surely the most hungrier team in the league.
After managing to end a 30 year long wait of the England Premier league triumph, they will be glad to defend the title and also record that in their history record. So I feel that the Reds will be much more difficult to break...
