Manifestos usually promotes a new idea. It can be revolutionary .
It is gotten from an Italian word 'manifesto' meaning clear or conspicuous.
Now that the elections are around the corner and future elections will hold, we should always consider how these politicians will meet up with their manifestos and compare with past politicians who have ruled.
There are divergent views about the intentions of the politicians matching up with their given manifestos.
In Nigeria, promises have been broken over the years by political parties .
Some political parties have been accused of using the blueprint of another party's manifesto as theirs.
Some parties , after their victory, have even turned around to deny making some of the promises in their manifesto. Today, under their administration, inflation and poverty is on the rise.
In addition, another political party has said that it is all out to salvage Nigeria from it's various problems.
Some other parties believe that theirs is more original and will deliver exactly what it has promised.
Politicians, especially in Nigeria may have to be thinking on how best to make their manifestos a real deal for the much awaited emancipation the nation badly needs.

Manifesto is like proposal to me, they are proposing to you for you to accept their proposal and vote them in. That doesn't mean they will do all they have said.
Doing those things is believing , not until they do it, all is mere promises with hope of fufilment. Have we not seen very well, governments that won't even do half of their promises but yet will promise heaven and Earth and we will believe them and vote them in. So I will say that the manifesto shows their intentions but doesn't guarantee the fufilment of their intentions.

Well, manifesto are meant to reveal intentions of a candidate or the party. Manifesto are now made compulsory for anyone who attain a particular political office. Some contestant or candidates who are not interested with pleasing or serving the people but just want that title or that position for his or her selfish interest are forced to make a manifesto that sounds appeasing to the hears because they had.
Because of their lost or self interest, they tend to please the public by creating a seductive manifesto and spend good amounts of money in the campaign or any other process. These manifestos do not reveal their true intent but instead reveals what the people wants to hear and as such when elected in to office, abuses the office power and does the direct opposite of the manifesto since it is not what they are in for. Instead, they payback their self, the money, they spent on the process they went through just to acquire the position.

I don't think those things work in Nigeria, these days they don't even tell us anything, no respect, no regard, even when they do, they lie. It is well with Nigeria.
