Publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu ,has accused the Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu of "copying and pasting" late MKO Abiola's manifesto.
The 80-page manifesto which is tagged 'Renewed Hope 2023' ,was released over the weekend and it promises to solve Nigeria's security and economic problems if reelected next year.
Momodu who is also the director of strategic communications of the PDP presidential campaign, criticized the document in article.
He said the document is filled with half thoughts,poor reasoning and copied notes from Abiola's 'Hope '93' manifesto.
Abiola who was the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 1993 election was adjudged to have won the presidential poll before it was annulled by Ibrahim Babangida, then Head of State.
Momodu emphasized that Tinubu's presidential bid is a "forlorn hope" and further described the manifesto as an "insult to the sensibility and needs of Nigerians".
Reacting to this, the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State has faulted Dele Momodu for his wrong comparisons of their manifesto with the MKO's.
Spokesman of the party, Hon.Seye Oladejo made it clear that the prevailing circumstances in Nigeria as at 1993 were significantly different from what obtains today such as insecurity and banditry.
He further pointed out that,most of the author's of MKO's "Farewell to Poverty" are still alive and that only a pseudo analyst would imagine that anyone could 'cut' the 1993 experience and 'paste' it in 2023.
