We do love taking hot showers but try giving cold shower a chance, you might like the feeling you get after getting one. Regardless, hot showers and cold showers has it advantages and its disadvantages but in this we will be focusing on cold shower.
So what do cold shower actually do?

1. Itchy Skin
Cold showers takes care of itchy skin or some skin conditions that cause you to itch. It helps to overcome the sensation to scratch.

2. When cold water touches the body, it causes a shock, which increases the heart rate, alertness and oxygen intake.

3. Blood Circulation
Cold showers tend to have the opposite effects of hot showers because it causes alertness which triggers the circulatory system and it in turn prevents cardiovascular diseases.

4. Healthy skin glow
Experts, with evidences says that cold water tightens and constricts the blood flow which gives your skin a healthier glow and it also strengthens your hair cuticle, provides protection for the skin, by not drying the natural lubricated barrier known as sebum layer, instead it enhances the lubrication. It also in turn makes the hair to become more healthier and stronger over time.

5. Cold showers also acts as a healing agents when
you have muscle soreness after intense workouts. It has properties that relaxes and repair the body after an intense workout.

6. Weight loss
When taking bathing cold water, your body in order to maintain the body warm temperature, it starts burning fats to generate heat.


The demerits of cold showers are situations where you are sick, so the immune system of the body is unable to perform its duties effectively so it's best to avoid cold water and also another con is when you cold and you got up to take cold shower will increase the time its takes the body to warm up. Hence, hot water is preferable.
