Family/Parenting » Adult And Apology by: Queen(f) .:. Fri, 03 Mar, 2023 - 12:44:18:pm GMT
Why is it so difficult for most adults to accept that they are wrong when they are, take the responsibility and apologize when necessary.

You will see in a family were some thing has gone wrong and may be the mother or father is to blame, but they will refuse to accept that they are wrong. Instead they will try to pin it on the children or they just walk away even if it's necessary for them to apologize, the worse of all is even when they come to make peace, they come with style instead of apologing straight, meanwhile they expect apology from others.

It bothers me because adults are the ones who do these things so what type of generation are they bringing up.

Parents, Pastors, Bosses etc.all do it.
Something goes wrong and because of pride you don't want to accept, it's very wrong.

You earn more respect when as a boss, parent, pastor can accept your fault, it shows you are mature.
People around you might not say anything but they are observing you and they know you and they will be the ones to talk about you to Other.

I know of an elderly man, as old as he was, he still accepts his faults and apologies when necessary.
To me, that is a great man with great example.

People around you should enjoy you not tolerate you.
Live by example.

Thank you.

I don't why adults don't like apologizing whenever they've done something wrong and this is common among our parents. There are things parents will do to you and they know what they did is wrong but it is very difficult for them to say sorry instead they will look for a gift or something to say sorry for.

Just like you said adults are the ones that meant to teach us how to say sorry whenever they did the wrong thing. I think why most of them don't like saying sorry because they believe they have the right to do whatever they like at any given time to anybody and this is wrong!

As an adult, you need to teach your younger ones by practicing the right attitudes and then letting them follow suit instead of forcing them to do what you can't practice.
