Education » 20.2 MILLION CHILDREN OUT OF SCHOOL IN NIGERIA by: Obajichi(f) .:. Mon, 05 Sep, 2022 - 07:10:39:pm GMT
The United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has released an alarming figure of out of school children in Nigeria on September 1, 2022.

This is a huge contrast to what the minister of Education Adamu Adamu had earlier announced about the reduced number of out- of- school children to be 6.9 million on August 18, 2022

This is worrisome because Nigeria is ranked as one of Africa's biggest economies and top crude exporter.

20.2 million out- of -school children is distressing figure that shows how poorly implemented our educational policies are, the result of constant insurgencies and the lack of funds budgeted for the education sector.

At this time in Nigeria, it is a shame that Education is not given adequate priority or attention.

Even countries like Ghana have a better educational plan than Nigeria.

Should we still be calling ourselves the giant of Africa when it seems like we are crawling at over 60?
