The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) chairman, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke disclosed why the really suspended the strike.
He discloses this one a program on Channels tv titled 'Sunday Politics' why he called off the 8-month strike.

Osodeke stated that the sole reason, they suspended the strike is because that they don't want to be known as law breakers.
But that doesn't mean the issues has been fully resolved and no agreement has been signed yet.

His words were:
" The issues have not been fully resolved and no agreement has been signed. So, we are resuming because we are a law abiding body and we don't want to break the law".
"We are also hoping that the intervention of the speaker, as promised by him, will resolve these problems in a very short time."

"When ask if this lecturers are not happy to be resuming," Osodeke also replied "Definitely".
"In trade dispute, especially one involving University academics, the best option is negotiation and then you end it within a very short time", he said.

I guess, that's the law of Nigeria, they only amended it for such purposes like this, because the country just acted injustly to the academic staff union of university (ASUU) like a man that borrows money and refuses to pay back.

If this strike ends without the FG fulfilling it's part to the lecturers, then it means the whole process was a waste of time on the lecturers and worse still, on the students.
