Education » SHOULD PREGNANT SCHOOL GIRLS BE EXPELLED ? by: Obajichi(f) .:. Mon, 13 Mar, 2023 - 04:26:33:pm GMT
In countries like Kenya and Nigeria the rate of pregnant school girls between the age of 15 and 19 is alarming, as a matter of fact, over 50 percent.
Those who are in school will definitely have a set back in many ways especially those girls who were put in the family by .
In the case mentioned above, these school girls are likely to be punished by expulsion from the school so as to serve as a warning to others who may be nursing such ideas or planning to tow that path of immorality .
Many sides have argued about the issue of expelling such school girls.
Some believe that the girls need to be expelled to deter others from doing such , to prevent stigmatization or to help the young inexperienced girl take care of herself as awaits the unplanned arrival of the baby.
Others believe that making her come to school will be a way of subtly punishing her so that she can realize the folly in what she did and it will deter her and others from repeating such act.
They also believe that if she can cope with the rigours of school work, then she should not be expelled as she may be strong enough to prepare for exams in order to avoid having to return for an extra year to write her WASSCE.
In your opinion, do you think pregnant school girls should be expelled ?

To answer this question, I'll first like to think about the possible situation that may be at hand that caused the victims of teenage pregnancy to get pregnant.
Possible situations include neglect from a parent and poverty as such they're subject to circumstances that leave them vulnerable. Other include peer pressure and the waywardness of the teenager.
When it comes to the last two situations I stated above, one can say those situations are the entire fault of the teenager. Maybe Yes, but looking at it from a different angle, I believe it is still the fault of the parent.
There's a stage in every child's life where a parent can teach the child the right thing and they'll understand and not deviate no matter the circumstances. This stage is between the toddler and the beginning stage of puberty.
Any parent that fails to pay maximum attention at this stage range should be ready to face anything the child decides to become. So it is thinking from this perceptive that'll make me concur that they should not be expelled from school.
When they can no longer come to school due to pregnancy, they should be given a break. When they're fit to be in class again, please no school should deny it.
It's obvious the parent failed, perhaps the school can save the child now. That's how I like to think about it.

Pregnant student should not be expelled in school because it can be the end of their career and can as well discourage them from pursuing whatever goal they have their mind focused on.
They can be punished but not be made to suffer because of their act in terms of getting pregnant. At every point, I believe everyone deserves a second chance and not be found at the first error.
Terminating her education at that point can damage her and leaving her out of school. Today we have people who go for their post graduate studies with pregnancy and not affected. I won't support them being expelled rather they should encouraged and motivated or counselled and monitored to make sure they are doing fine and provided they can still continue. Dreams aren't meant to be tarnished like that, the deeds has been done but shouldn't lead to straight condemnation.

In considering this firstly let us look at the background where those children come from, a child in that category who got pregnant something should be again a corna side of her pregnancy or vice versa.
Either they should be expel or not at least we have some rules and regulations guiding our educational principles.
It is not proper for a student In this level to got pregnant and also been allow to come to school.

Hmm, this is an interesting question. Well, should a pregnant school girl be expelled? Honestly she shouldn't be expelled. Pregnancy at a young age especially when you are still in secondary school, is isn't what one plans for or dream to have. Expelling her won't have any special effect on her although it would hinder her future goals but it can't be compared to the stigma or other hurtful experiences for the mean time.
She should be allowed to study till it's six months and beyond. And she should be on a break until she deliver the baby. If the school wants to use her as a lesson, it will be way good if she still there and every time her fellow students sees her. They will have this fear of getting pregnant and also the guys to be a baby father.
Expelling the girl isn't the right decision to make. The school should also think of other ways to take care of the issue.

Actually for me, I say that pregnant girls should not be expelled. The reason for this is that.. we as humans have rights and if we decide to have children while going to school then I don't think that it is a problem. Except that the school policies says otherwise then it can be archived by expelling the student. Let say that a president child is in a school and she is pregnant, do you think that the school management will expel her? Thank you.

Pregnant school girls should not b expelled from school, cause only them will expele themselves. So expeling them is jst a waste of time coz when the time comes they themselves will leave. Thats the way I see it.

Pregnant teenage students have to be given a disciplinary action. Till may drive the message to some others that what was done is against school rules and I and also against good moral behaviour.
For me I think they should be suspended when the matter has come out to public hearing untill after when the girl has given birth and taken her rest.
If she so wishes to continue her education in the same school, she should still be allowed to do so.
So also applys to the boy

For real when it comes to female pregnancy in school and school expelling student from school. Most students get raped which later result to pregnancy . Schools don't wanna take blame for a ward getting pregnant under there nose which is very alarming. Because a student getting pregnant while in school will bring a bad reputation to the school . I mean this is Nigeria we discriminate we judge people buy there actions so imagine a female getting pregnant in her second year in secondary school or college people will feel the school and parents should be blamed . The school should be blamed in the sense that they are not meant to teach them how to read and write but teach them moral, value and so on . People will also have this taught that if they children are in they school they may be influenced. I know taking care of a child as a teenager is very stressful believe me at some point in there life they want support from there mate but they don't get the support. People around them blame them even though at times it is not there fault..... Support any teenage mum out there things are not easy for them
